http://www.cafc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10267~2384879,00.html Kelly Youga, now out of contract, reported back for treatment, while Christian Dailly, whose deal has also expired, attended Thursday's gym session. But Joe Anyinsah, Jonathan Fortune, Michael Stewart, Kyel Reid, Miguel Llera and Jose Semedo were not present in SE9 after their contracts came to an end. It was fun while it lasted hey
NOOOOOOOO BIG MIG! hes the reason i beat barcelona on legendary! and does anyone else besides me want semedo back?
Shame about Llera, offered something different, for the hoof ball teams. Would have liked him to stay but not as a first teamer! Good luck to him
In all fairness, he will be remembered as a cult hero/legend for his short stay... The head gear, the passion he displayed, and that goal against Swindon on Boxing Day will always stand out for me
Miguel is far from being the worst defender to ever play for CAFC.... He is a very good defender on his day, great at switching play with his long ball distribution and showed great passion! Just a shame 80% of the times he did play we only saw the ''average'' Llera... Good Luck to him, Im sure there will be quite a few League 1 teams after him
For every ''great'' ball, there was him being skinned time and time again.. For all his passion, there was a red card or penalty waiting. Then there was his positional awareness when teams played it on the deck. Fine if they lumped it, but run ragged by any team who could vaguely keep the ball on the pitch.
I think all the out of contract players are pretty decent, yet for differing reasons it just hasn't worked out for them here. It's time to start with a blank canvas and look to building a team for the future - sometimes you just gotta throw out them crotchless boxers and buy a fresh pair. Personally I wish them all well, particularly Semedo and Llera, and thank them for their efforts.
Llera is a poor player who bought nothing to the team. Glad to see the back of him. Semedo won't be missed, was a poor player of the year in a team that had no standout individuals. If we want to get out of this league we won't do it with him in the team. Can't faul his commitment to the club though while he was with us.
Do you read Private Eye by any chance FHB? I personally would have kept him, but it depends on who we bring in. Cheers Mig, will never forget the sheer astonishment of the goal against Swindon. Only time I have been genuinely speechless when we have scored.
Ah bless... I'm sorry for your loss Mike... My thoughts are with you during this difficult period...!! I'm trying to keep a lid on my sadness by holding onto the hope that we may soon be seeing a new big strapping lad at Centre Half for you to salivate over. Hopefully this new one aint just a head on a stick and has the ability to turn quicker than the QEII... .
