I'd have to say I take it with a pinch of salt coming from him Baranby this long after the event. He's had a long time to concoct his story, its not like he hasn't been asked this question and dodged it in the past. Matters not now of course because things have moved on but I don't believe the spin these guys put on things. The good news stories they've been trawling out would normally worry me that the next face slap is just around the corner!

Fortunately I couldn't give a **** anymore, I just want us to do well and I can ignore all the stuff that surrounds what happens on the pitch!

I will never trust MA or DL and I hated the way they sacked CH. They have our finances on the right track and on the field we are playing ok, need to improve.
Rumour doing the rounds is that Tiote could be on the move in the summer, which we thought might happen.

Too nice a lad but I'm sure he will have learned from working for MA and Llambias.

No biggie with Tiote. We have had good use of him. Of course in an ideal world he'll stay here for his career and I'd love us to be in a position to keep him, or for him to just love it here so much he doesn't want to leave. But realistically the lad has to look after his own career and we were probably sold to him as a stepping stone. The agent will be getting itchy now and will be looking to cash in on his prized asset while his stock is high.

They'll get a lot more in for him than they laid out for him, so in their eye's it's good business.

If it hadn't been for ACON he might have gone in January.
Not deluded enough to know we were going to keep him.
We will bring players on and then sell them on.

Hughton did not have the character to manage big characters such as Barton and Nolan whereas Pardew does.

Quite interesting comments. Sounds nearly as if Chris just didn't want to get involved much into the club aside from what had to do with the first team football on the pitch.

More worrying are Llambos comments on Tiote. Basically saying Tiote's for sale if the money is right. He doesn't need to make those comments in the press imo, there are plenty other channels communicating a player is for sale for the right price without upsetting the fans. Tiote has a contract til 2017! so he will be expensive, and I doubt he'll actually want to leave, so here's hoping. He's our best player.

I've long said every player is replaceable but I'd have to agree with travelsick, he's our best player. The midfield battle is often where a game is won and lost. The derby was a good illustration of this. We never got going for 35mins and they had the better of it without creating much. But once Cheik kicked into gear he monstered their whole midfield on his own. Cabaye was playing little part so he just overran them on his own. As average as Sunderlands midfield is, that is some feat against any team in the PL.

Right, that's why the dressign room was in open revolt.

The article really doesn't say anything: we sacked him because we felt like it. We've always known that

    How quickly people forget...

Chris Hughton delivered silverware to SJP... he was the man who masterminded the 5-1 thrashing of Sunderland etc etc.

To read the sort of utter **** like "he can't manage big characters" is ****ing laughable.
I really despair at the some of the complete stupidity written on here. <laugh>
