Just read this thread on OTIB and got say I agree with this "No, it's not arm wrestling. Having watched the two sides today and noticed the way in which Oldham completely outplayed for most of the game I could be forgiven for thinking Lee Johnson had been at Oldham years. Yet, he's been at Oldham for less time than O'Driscoll has with us. So, why despite SOD being such a top coach (Arsene Wenger, Platini and Spudski said this), can Lee Johnson set up his side to play so much better football than us? Oldham played the ball around very well, retained the possession and has a team, which for most part, were very comfortable on the ball. They have a system, looked organised and played with real hunger and passion. I was really struck by their desire to win in the last 20 mins. Any neutral attending today would have thought Oldham were the home team. I want to know why O'Driscoll, after 10 months, still hasn't imposed a system on the team and why we still lump it forward continually. Why do we still concede late goals? Why can't we keep a clean sheet? Why is there no progress? SOD has achieved nothing on the pitch in 10 months. We're as bad, if not worse, as when he took over" I agree with what the poster says LJ has had a lot less time, and I thought they played well today. Can't wait till Redprint reads this
Yep im still yet to see this "sexy football" we were promised. Lee johnsons Oldham we're coming along with it very nicely. The last game I watched them play was against Liverpool in the cup and all they did was hoof it to Smith. Come a long way since then.
In a very odd way I wanted Oldham to grab a winner because of LJ, and their team they played amazing.. their CB'S were fantastic on the ball, their midfielders tackled passes and their forwards did the dirty work.. Then you look at us, Flint with the ball at his feet is like a conference player, shorey was poor for a player with an England cap, Pack was totally shocking, Elliot was being Elliot, tackling well but falling over when he's on the ball, Reid wasn't the best but no one will say anything because he's an academy player, JET was JET and Taylor was week and feeble up front.. First time that I've actually walked out of the gate thinking we were totally shocking.. worrying times..
that ****ing fat idiot bristolcity? does my head in with his two word posts of negativity on every thread..and I'm not the only one
'Just read this thread on OTIB and got say I agree with this' - So do I. Fans been saying, quite rightly about how 'stupid' it was to take off Taylor. But for me I couldn't believe how narrow we set up, Reid was played out of position and Wagstaffe doesn't have one. In fact WTF is Wagstaffe, because sure as hell he's no more a wide player than fly. Marv's lost his mojo. Shorey was ordinary as was Pack and Flint. Thought Williams did well though. SOD's possession game is now SOD's version of Wimbledon. SOD's massive gift of lifting/inspiring the players/fans is taking us deeper and deeper in trouble. And the best part ...........the Board can't see it. I came away thinking have I seen a more inept BCFC side - ever !
What's even more shocking is that was the first time you've walked out thinking we we're shocking. Where were you all last season
Ah right, I don't think we've walked out of AG this season saying. Yeah we played well the full 90 and deserved the win.... It's getting depressing
Normally we play dreadful one half and slightly improve in the second.. Not this game, dominated for 90 minutes..didn't even have a little 10 minute spell..
I thought we even scored against the run of the play? ****ing blaming this one on Lee Johnson Hopefully he stated behind to teach SoD to play your own game and stop worrying about how to stop the opposition.
Post-match press conference reduced to a farcical shambles. Not seen anything quite like it in 28 years in the business! From Andy Stockhausen, has sod been waving his arms like a looney again
