When the fenway sports group first purchased this club i was expecting the big money signings to come in. They made their financial mistakes spending over the top on average players (Bar suarez/enrique) but since the acquisition of their new manager they have been "astute". This is where i thought Newcastle were headed after a top 5 season, looking to build on success with great value. One 8-10m pound signing, maybe two if the value is there. Since the point when Brendan Rodgers was appointed manager they have brought in 4 integral parts to their team for great value. They have gotten some 20m pound players like sturridge and coutinho for slightly less than 10m a piece. Whereas we seemingly have signed players who haven't improved the squad at all except for maybe Mbiwa IMO. It seems like liverpool have perfected the transfer strategy we've started, while were now just buying downright cheap players. The reason for me writing this is that the sport is growing so much here in the states. Millions of people over here in the states are picking teams to support. I can't help thinking how much were missing out on to Liverpool, Swansea and Southampton. Ashley is an idiot for failing to realize that in these next few years he could easily triple the teams international fan base by signing some exciting players. The club honestly does deserve more than what ashley is providing.
