I'm hoping to gather the perspective of Stoke City fans, ahead of next weeks opening fixture, for an as yet unnamed LFC-related blog that I'm contributing to - the first in a series of Q&A pieces to preview each match of the season. I'd be grateful if anyone would be happy to offer responses to the following questions:
- Tony Pulisâ departure, after seven years at the helm, follows a relatively stable period of top-flight football â do you feel that it was the right time to make a change?
- Mark Hughes has been appointed new manager, then â how did that compare to your aspirations and expectations, and how to you expect his impact to play out?
- Your team embarked on a tour of the United States during pre-season â howâs the build-up been overall?
- It looks like youâve had a bit of a clear out of what outsiders may perceive as âdeadwoodâ, with a small number of younger players coming in â how do you feel about your summerâs transfer activity and is there anything you can tell us about those new arrivals?
- So, bringing together Hughesâ appointment, your pre-season, and the assembled squad, what are your hopes and expectations for the coming season?
- Are there any stories bubbling away under the surface at the Britannia â things the national media may have overlooked?
- Turning attention towards Saturday, now â how do you hope/expect your side to approach the game and would you care to offer a prediction?
