The hunt for Europe gains further traction ... The Saints Proper head to the ground of the Southampton Reserves, desperate for a win that will push us closer to that coveted European place. The Super Saints are now just 4 (our favourite number) points off a European place, with a win against our Reserves potentially closingg the gap to 1 point (not so much our favourite number, but it'll do) A lot has been made of Liverpools team in recent months. Van Dijk. Salah. Mane. Alexander-Arnold. Ha. Not one of them are fit to clean the boots of Stephens, Ings, Redmond or Cedric. The referee is a certain Mr Kevin Friend... although given his performance in a previous Southampton-Southampton Reserves match, he is certainly no friend of ours. One to injure early on, I feel. The March into Europe is gathering pace ... let's ride this uncontrollable wave straight across the channel. COYR!!!!
Saturday 1st February 2020 15:00 (3 p.m.) KO Liverpool v Southampton Referee: Kevin Friend. Assistants: Simon Beck, Adrian Holmes. Fourth official: David Webb. VAR: Simon Hooper. Assistant VAR: Daniel Robathan.
My (poor apparently) attempt at humour about the question being asked hundreds of times in both match threads last season.
Ings to replicate the great steve moran strike and win 1-0......the last and only time i have been to anfield....but im going again saturday....
Beating them would make no difference to their title chances. They’re so far ahead it would require both a monumental collapse from a brilliantly consistent side and Man City to stop having semi-regular brain fart games. But it’d be amazing to be the ones to rain on their unbeatable parade.
After the amount of players they took from us, if we go on and stop their unbeaten streak, it will be incredible. Them winning the league wont matter if we manage that.
