If they play like they did against Newcastle today they're getting bummed rotten in their own back yard, no two ways about it.
It's their game of the season, they will come out all guns blazing. Even their better supporters think winning the "top six" league comes with a trophy
No, Diego!! You're wrong! Winning against United is the most important achievement to Scouser. It beats winning the league itself. Expect the pool boys to come at us with all guns blazing.
To many people (including pundits) this is the first real test United would face this season. Like Cytrax said in another thread, I am hoping that JM realises that the RS defence has been **** and that's something that his team should exploit. The RS will need to come out as they are playing at home and their crowd will push for that. In working out the pros and cons, a win will keep our run going and would be a massive boost. Yes, a loss would of course be unwelcome but we would not lose as much as what we would gain from a win. A draw would not be of much use to either side. United's form is better than the RS' and JM has to confirm it. 1-3 to United.
City beating the chavs in their own backyard has pointed the way. It was not only the win which impressed but the way City totally dominated them. It would have been a travesty had City not won. United should do the same , not that it is going to be easy. I think in this case the performance will be as important as the points.
The usual will happen, Jose will look to ride out the initial onslaught and quieten the crowd if we can't score in the first half you'll win it.
Martial and Lukaku got to get through tonight unscathed yet, got a feeling that won't happen! Assuming they do, I would go with the following team; De Gea Valencia Jones Bailly Darmian (with fingers and balls crossed) Herrera Matic Mata Martial (or Rashford) Lukaku Mhkitaryan (or Rashford) I'd be comfortable with Rashford being picked ahead of either Martial or Mhki and the other being sub. I would instinctively pick Young ahead of Darmian but at least Darmian is an actual defender and that side is Liverpool's strength so Young could be exposed by Mane.
Most likely team for us. Mingo Gomez Matip Lovren Moreno Hendo Can Coutinho Salah Firmino Mane I'm certain you will try to weather the intitial storm, once the crowd calm it a bit you'll get more into the game. I don't see us learning **** all and will probabaly miss a load of chances and allow you to grab a goal or 2 with our ability to **** things up at the back.
