Nor is the League Cup, the Uefa Cup, the Charity Shield, the Johnston Paints Cup, the European Super Cup or the World Club Cup, all for the same reasons.

 

Tommy, god love ya but all we've got over them is 5 times over 3 times. they've taken over us on everything else so i wouldn't really be going on too much....

 

I seem to remember the Liverpool fans I know going nuts when they beat West Ham in the final. Especially when Gerrard scored that screamer.

Whilst as a wum thread it isn't to great, to try and discount the FA ( the biggest domestic Cup in the world imo ) also isn't to great.

@ KingEric - That was in 2006, and the competition has become severely devalued since then, don't you think? People play their youth teams in it, and teams like Stoke are able to make the final? Not exactly important by anyone's standards. It wouldn't even normally be worth an open-top bus tour (But obviously with City winning jack for so long, they'll celebrate anything).

@ custard - How can any team that played John O'Shea 32 times in a season even think about claiming to be the best in England?!

 

Do I think it has become devalued since then ? No. Maybe for some fans who try and devalue as competition because they haven't won it for a while. If Liverpool got to the final would they sell out Wembeley or say ' na nobodies bothered about the FA Cup anymore' ?

In regards to Stoke reaching the final - the harsh considering in my reply I used the example of West Ham ( not much of a bigger club ).

I take it you weren't bothered when we knocked you out of the FA Cup last year then ?

A) we haven't won the FA Cup since it was 'Devalued.' We last won it in 2004 so that part of your argument defeats itself.

B) you leave John-O alone!

 

Any team can win a cup game when they have one more player than the opposition.
Every man and his dog knows the only thing Webb didn't do was put on a Man United shirt.
Man United in 2004...when they beat MillwallThey haven't won it when they have met proper opposition.

This argument is purile. To any true Red, Liverpool will ALWAYS be the best team in the land (I presume the same holds true at United).

Now, we are about to start a new season. Neither side is yet ready to take that challenge on. Both are trying to improve their squads. At the end of the season we will see who has been the most succesful - end!

I thought I would point something out, Liverpool were top dogs when English cluvs got banned, no Ban and we'd have more Euro titles too

Just friendly banter mate. I'm not trying to convince any Liverpool fan that United are better, it would be a waste of time. Both clubs are successful in their own right.

KPR- lets no get started on losing to poor opposition. Your recent history is hardly outstanding but like I said lets not go there.

 

At the moment UTD are the best, its called 19 titles, when Liverpool have more than UTD then you can be the best, so until then Liverpool are number 2

 

Liverpool have 5 European Cups Man United have 3,Until Man United have more than Liverpool...Man United will remain second.However there is more chance of Ryan Giggs staying married than there is of United overtaking Liverpool on European Cups.
