Liverpool Still In With A Chance For Cissokho

Discussion in 'Liverpool' started by Luis Figo no7, Jul 2, 2011.

  1. Lyon fullback Aly Cissokho is eager to know his club's plans for him. Manchester City and Liverpool have been linked with Cissokho, though City's interest has dried up with a deal in place for Arsenal left-back Gael Clichy. Cissokho told O Jogo: "I have a contract with Lyon. "Today, the coach has changed [Remi Garde has replaced Claude Puel] and no one knows what will happen. "I expect a decision by the club so I may know what my future will be."

Liverpool could now step up their pursuit of Cissokho after missing
    out on Clichy.

I hope so. I really don't care who we get for the LB position to be honest as long as they can do their job, they're left footed and don't cost too much.

I like the look of Big Ally.

But apparently we've got no money again. The Mirror "revealed" why we lost out on Wckham - because of the big wage bill of those we can't unload.

That would mean we can't afford anybody £9m+addons or above. Oh dear, the Mirror have us bang to rights and all hope is lost. Woe, woe and thrice woe.

I think he would be an excellent signing. He's quite young (23) and we would have to pay £9M for him according to reports. I'd say that is an excellent price and we should put a bid in.

Agreed, and with Man City seemingly out of the picture after landing Clichy,we might just have a clear run at him.

Hard to say, Cissokho is unproven in the Prem, but I think he can better Clichy and become one of the best left-backs in the league.
