Posted yesterday, but i hope Colo doesn't leave. He's been immense and is captain, plus, Liverpool aren't doing better than us, so i don't know why he would want to go there.

 

This story may or may not be true, but this is essentially what I'm worried about in the near future. I'm worried about Ashley's potential pound sign eyes when a serious offer comes in for someone like Tiote or Cabaye. Huge test of how serious he is about taking the club forward, although in fairness the sales he has approved save for Barton and Enrique (whose contract situation was very tricky and had a desire to leave) have been for absolutely stupid money.

 

If we lose him in January it will be a disaster for the club. We can't sell him at any price,

 

Hes a legend but replaceable. Every player has a price and he will be hitting 30 next year

I wouldn't go so far to say he's a legend and I also don't think that he's irreplaceable either.

I like Colo. I feel more confident when he's playing but he's coming up to 30 as already mentioned and the club would be fools to turn down a highly lucrative offer for a player with limited time in the top tier.

The funds can purchase a younger player/s to play in the position for a longer period of time.

I want him to stay for a few more years but we've got to be looking for his replacement shortly.

We've got **** depth in that area, we can't afford to sell him in January. We should sell him for no less than 10m and in the summer transfer window if we must sell him.

He's 30 but i still think there's 4-5 years left in him. Just because you're 30 doesn't mean your crocked, some players don't reach their peak until 30.

 

Of course money in bank wont help reinforce the defence, spending it will. My opinion on his sale would all depend on how the fee is reinvested.

A highly rated young defender with bags of potential and many more years ahead of him would be a good bit of dealing in my eyes

Probably not true. Can't see a real reason why Liverpool would want to sign a 30 year old defender. There defense is pretty strong, and I don't think they really need Colo, saying that Dalglish seems to be one of the worst people to decide on who to buy. His transfers have been very below par and apart from the Shearer, Sutton partnership for Blackburn I fail to see a reason why Liverpool FC trust this buffoon to spot there players.

Colo wont leave in my humble opinion, he has no reason too and Liverpool's owners need to make a profit, they have no one to sell for huge amounts, and we'd only sell Colo for 10M or more.

In Ashley's defence, he did turn down a £30 million bid for Carroll just before he left.

 

On a slightly different note..........................how funny would it be if we qualified for Europe at Liverpool's expense.......................I bet Enrique would be pissed off!!
