<peacedove>Liverpool Football Club have confirmed the signing of Marc Pelosi from the DeAnza Force Club in California.
The midfielder was captain of the United States U17 team who participated in this year's FIFA World Cup tournament in Mexico.
Pelosi has featured 28 times for the U17s against other national sides, scoring eight goals.
Academy director Frank McParland said: "We're determined to identify the best possible talent globally and I'm delighted we've been able to to bring Marc in to the club."<ok>

I'll wait to get the lowdown from Bluff on the lad. I've never heared of him so have no opinion to offer.

However, I am glad that he is over 17. I am very uneasy about transfers, particularly overseas transfers of youngsters. That there is a market in thses lads I find digusting.

    So, welcome Marc.

He was very good for us in this summer's u-17 WC. He, as it states, was the captain and helped to drive the team forward. He looked to have a pretty good all-around skill set. He was also starting and playing over boys who play in Germany,Denmark, etc. Alejandro Guido is probably one of the best prospects in tht age group but he is more of an AM and his body still needs to catch up. We really missed Pelosi when we played against Germany in the u-17 as there was no one to control the midfield and playmake with Guido.

With marc, he also comes up big in games as well, scored the game winner to get the US into that world cup and had a hat-trick or two as well.

is this on the lfc website?

If so; theres a long way form reserves as suso found out so i think he can go learn his trade with the rest of the kids, work hard and get lots of time to go do so without pressure from me anyway. We'll just see how it goes.

I know, he is a good prospect though and if he does not work out at Liverpool then I think he will play in the prem for someone a la Stuart holden. This is what we need though, more players doing this, going young to the big clubs and getting exposure to better talent, etc.

Sunshine will probably smash through half of Liverpool in about 2 months as well! lol.

You must not have 1 dollar menu at the fast food spots in England! Can still get like 3 double cheeseburgers, 2 small fries, and a coke for 5 bucks! haha

I was waiting for you to bite Bluff.

    Sounds like a promising player.

Hopefully he'll make a good impression in the academy!
