    wow just bloody wow

what are they offering for those prices

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Newcastle United travel to Anfield on Monday 13th April for a game which will cost travelling fans £52 plus travel costs. Football Supporters' Federation (FSF) affiliates Newcastle United Supporters Trust (NUST) and Spirit of Shankly (SoS) have both hit out at the cost and timing of the game. They have the full support of the FSF.

    Michael Martin, board member, NUST:

“NUST is appalled to discover that ticket prices for United fans travelling to Anfield for the forthcoming fixture are a staggering £52 per head. At a time when Premier League football is awash with riches from TV, the most dedicated followers of the game continue to have their eyes pulled out by the nation's clubs charging extortionate prices which will slowly and steadily erode the culture of away day travel vital to the atmosphere that TV buys so much into.

“£52 for a game on a Monday evening, live on TV, this pricing is almost designed to deter supporters from the North East travelling to a fixture which has proved one of the most iconic on the football calendar.

Not a chance in hell would I pay that. Sadly though, we will still sell out our allocation because the club knows that people will still buy them. If people want a reduction in ticket prices then there is one solution. Simply don't go.

A case of taking the fans for a ride yet again.
Liverpool know that we will more than likely sell out our allocation, so will charge what they see fit according to their categorisation of the game.
Presumably there own fans will pay the same price for similar seats, otherwise they would be in breach of the rules as we were against Southampton last season.

Well, at least we are a Category A match not like that lot down the road.

    http://www.liverpoolfc.com/tickets/lfc-ticket-prices/premier-league-prices

I'm sure this must be based upon either:

    a) which teams are going to give them the hardest game, or

    b) which teams will have the biggest profit per season, or

    c) which teams will be competing for trophies, or

    d) which teams have the daftest fans.

In any event, as others have already said, charging this amount for any match is obscene even more so with the pennies swilling around PL teams and going to too many average players incapable in the supposed best league in the world of being able to kick with 2 feet, head, tackle and pass a ball (other than square or back). Compare the prices here to Germany. Germany show it can be done. Sensible prices for everyone and good football.

We have a fair play reciprochal agreement with clubs who don't rip off our fans.
We should ensure we charge the dippers the full £52 when they come to our place.

That's spiteful, and we all know Mike isn't like that, so he wouldn't stoop to the level of Liverpool FC.
