Link - http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/new...over-for-banned-Pepe-Reina-article885993.html Liverpool are putting Brad Jones on standby for a first-team call as Kenny Dalglish faces up to a goalkeeping crisis. The Australian was pulled out of the Anfield side’s reserve team on Monday night and will be in the frame to replace Pepe Reina during the Spaniard's three-game ban. Brazilian Doni is expected to step up to face Aston Villa on Saturday after sitting on the bench in recent weeks, but he has never started a game for Liverpool. Jones’ last taste of first-team action for Liverpool was against Northampton in a disastrous Carling Cup defeat during Roy Hodgson’s reign. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not sure how good Jones is compared to Doni - haven't really seen any of them play so not sure what to make of this, same goes for the link below. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Link - http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/312272/Alexander-Doni-is-in-the-dark-over-his-Liverpool-future ALEXANDER DONI admits he does not know whether he will be at Liverpool next season as he prepares to fill Pepe Reina’s boots. Goalkeeper Doni, whose last game on English soil was a 7-1 defeat with Roma in a Champions League tie against Manchester United in April 2007, will step into the spotlight after it was confirmed Reina must serve a three-match ban for his red card against Newcastle “Next year, I do not know where I will play,” he said. “Being on the bench is not great.”
alexander doni has played 30+ times for brazil, he played for a good while at roma.. he is FAR better than jones and will be an able deputy. frankly goal is the least of our worries... carragher, and gerrard are huge passengers and the midfield is awful
