Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is plotting a stunning move to bring Napoli striker Edinson Cavani to Anfield before the end of the transfer window. The Reds chief has placed the Urugyuan at the top of his hit list as he continues his search for a strike that can fill in for the suspended Luis Suarez. Andy Carroll continues to struggle with the anniversary of his record breaking £35 million move from Newcastle fast approaching whilst Dirk Kuytâs drop in form has persuaded Dalglish he needs a proven centre forward to fire the club back into Europe. Whilst Craig Bellamy has impressed up front the Welshman is always susceptible to breaking down with injury and Dalglish knowâs he canât rely on Carroll and Kuyt to provide goals. Liverpool have scored just four times in as many Premier League games since Suarezâs suspension winning just once and dropping below Arsenal and Newcastle in pursuit of the top four. Cavani has now emerged as a serious target for the 60-year-old who is toying with the idea of pairing him with fellow countryman Suarez in a devastating attacking partnership. The duo linked up to great effect in the World Cup two years ago and Dalglish is convinced the partnership could turn the club into serious title contenders next season. The 24-year-old certainly knows where the net is scoring 51 times in 72 games since moving to the Stadio San Paolo in the summer of 2010 but could be coaxed into joining Suarez in England. Chelsea and Manchester City have also been credited with an interest in Cavani but were put off by Napoliâs £30 million asking price although itâs thought Dalglish is willing to spend big to capture the 6ft 2in striker. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Scoring 51 times in 72 games is very good. Haven't seen enough of him to know what he's like, especially for the £30m asking price. Thoughts?
<Faint!> Story is rubbish in my opinion. We wouldn't get him in Jan whilst he has Champs League and we don't. Think we will have to do better than 5th to get him.
Would be the stuff dreams are made of, he is top quality. Can't see it though - especially in January.
Now now, plenty of time yet. The players got cheered up nicely on Tuesday, and some positive vibes are coming. We still have to play Arsenal and Chelsea at home, after beating them both away. We also have less games with out European football, so their squad depth, or lack of, will be tested more than ours.
Nothing's changed though. The team put in a great performance the other day and created hundreds of chances though but what did it take for us to score? A penalty and a flash of brilliance by Bellamy. Still doesnt change the fact that we need an out and out goal scorer
I'll add we do need to be positive right now and push the boys on, but Reds right, how many times have we come on here after playing city, united, chelsea, arsenal and said " yea, top result that's what we need" to then flounder against the next? We beat wolves away I will start to get more optimisitc
They say Cincinnati, but most of the casinos that are close are in Indiana. It seems they were building one, probably to kick off the new downtown area maybe:? I will say this that company looked dodgy and the contruction workers around here are not the brightest.
Its downtown Cincinnati. 16 construction workers injured,9 seriously. by the way OP soz for going off topic.
Damn, hope it all turns out alright. Ya, across from Downtown Cincinnati is Newport, KY and at the moment is the better spot when going downtown due to more of a row style of bars, restuarants and entertainment. But here: please log in to view this image There is an area in between the two stadiums that is just not used and they were going to turn it into "the banks" and it was going to be the new hot spot, casino, bars, restaurants, etc and be a top spot to go to after the games. Sorry for going off topic, never had a chance for Cavani, probably be tough to get lavezzi now as well!
Cavani is pretty much my dream signing but unfortunately it'll remain that way. Zero chance he'd come to Liverpool, especially with Madrid and City sniffing around. Only way we could pull this off if he was a closet Reds fan and Suarez could convince him that our 2-3 year project will be something special that he should be a part of. Even then, serious money would talk to take him from Napoli. Shame.
Not in this window but I would'nt rule it out for the summer, Suarez could easily pursuade him to come in the summer imo even if we don't get champ's league.
