EEEEEEEEEKKKKKKK SQUEAKY BUM TIME Until this vacancy is full, I will be tres nervous @ Lambert leaving.
A good day to bury bad news. If Dalglish has left completely, we'll be fine. If he's moved upstairs, we could have a problem!
lambert is fourth favourite for the liverpool job with the majority of bookies by the way. i think we can all see why lambert didn't want to commit himself categorically to us after the villa game. you never know what jobs will crop up and who will want you!
I actually agree with Carra, a move upstairs would have said that Lambert would have been perfect as his apprentice if you like. Now if reports are correct, it will be martinez to liverpool which will still leave the Villa job very much in the open. Either way, i would expect some sort of approach by some club for Lambert.
agree with both carra and you guru. and villa will certainly come in for lambert - doesn't mean they'll get him though
If that's true, there is no way on this earth they will go for Lambert. I'm 99% confident he won't go to Liverpool, this time.
This is an unhelpful development. Martinez to Liverpool, Hughton to West Brom, why has Brendan Rodgers gone off everyone's radar all of a sudden? The other one is the Reading boss. GRrrrr!
dalglish has spoken extremely highly of lambert. whether they would take that into account i have no idea.
do you reckon stewart downing will claim an assist for this, being part responsible for his dismissal?
That could be a factor supers, but the martinez factor is going to come into it, if Villa doesn't get him then they will go all guns for Lambert! I would have thought King Kenny would have some sway still in the decision.
what makes me think you're wrong about dalglish still holding sway is that the current liverpool board have never felt a bond to him. i don't even think they really wanted him as boss in the first place - they went with the flow of the fans. martinez does appear to be the liverpool boards choice, which i find odd, but i doubt it'll affect villa too much as i'm positive they want lambert as first choice, therefore would have thrown it all at him first anyway
Aside from the Lambert thing, thank god for that, now I can start liking Liverpool again. That man is such a waste of space. The Liverpool job now is a poisoned chalice though. You HAVE to be in that top four as do Chelsea, Arsenal, United and City and they can't all do it. If I was Lambert and had a choice I'd give Anfield a wide berth at the moment. At Villa Park there are similar resources with much less expectation.
They know that Dalglish is still held in high regard by the fans, and they will respect his judgement. whether they take it or not is another question.
i'll never like liverpool but i totally see where you're coming from. the way they handled events this season has been disastrous. i don't believe it is a poisoned chalice though - i think its a better job than going to chelsea for example, but you're right that top four is now the aim year on year out - difficult. the owners are blatantly in it for the money and nothing else. however, when you say villa have similar resources to liverpool... sorry, wet my pants.
i really don't think they'd take any notice of dalglish. i think he's embarrassed them this season, especially back in the states where their diabolical handling of the suarez case was highlighted massively.
I think that's rubbish to be honest. Nobody in their right mind would take advice from somebody they've just sacked because of poor performance. Am I the only one that thinks this?
