I had a dream last night where it was the first day of the new season and Cissoko was at left back. But I'm guessing not this Sissoko.
I got the impression he'd be cover for Lucas. Lucas knows there'll be more competition for his place. This is good.
If he's cover then ok but nothing more.... Lucas is just about my favourite Liverpool player at the moment
Absolutely but the guy needs a bit more down time. He's played 50 and 47 games in the last two seasons. He's earned a rest.
Sissoko will be a battler for us, something that Spearing and Lucas cannot provide when the opposition get in our faces. He would be a more specialist DM (IMO) than Lucas and hopefully that will give Lucas more freedom to show that he can command a midfield. So far, none of our midfielders (apart from Gerrard) has the ability to do that. We need a player like Adam (I'm not saying that Adam is the solution) but a player with technical ability, vision, passing range and most of all composure on the ball. Lucas is found out when he's under pressure. Lucas has improved so much over the past couple of years but I feel that he has only now reached an average level, a level which he should have been at when he first started. People continue to say that we don't need any more CM's but the following players don't inspire me: Gerrard - can win games on his own but has struggled to reach the heights for the past couple of seasons. Lucas - for reasons explained above, cannot dominate and command a midfield, lacks the vision and range of passing. Spearing - same as Lucas Meireles - has a good shot and great movement, but runs out of steam around 70 mins, doesn't have a great vision or range of passing. The only person I do feel is good enough to be in our CM is Aquilani because he has the skill, range of passing, creative and fantastic technique. However, he is more of an advanced midfielder whereas we need a deep lying play maker.

I think we have a better shot at Mousa Sissoko than Aly Cissokho as City are already weighing him up at 20 mil, could be rumor and speculation but that is a high price when we might be able to land clichy for 5.
