Liverpool game, Pay on the gates?

I'm hoping to be able to go the liverpool game, as its very unlikely it will sell out i was going to pay on the gates. Ive only ever had a season pass or paid for my ticket on the internet, so does 'pay on the gate' actually mean pay on the gate/turnstiles? or do you have to go and queue in the ticket office?

You can actually pay on the turnsite, I did it a couple of times last season, you'll certainly be able to at the liverpool match.

 

I paid on the gate for Wigan, they just give you a ticket at the gate.

 

Get a ticket from the office if you can as the cues there can be smaller that the gate.
