LFC's "committee" is a mish mash of experts working outside of their field of expertise and others of a lesser quality than is required if we want to progress. FSG's star man Mike Gordon got a glowing introduction from John Henry considering he's had no dealings and has no prior experience in football. “He is by far FSG America’s most knowledgeable person with regard to soccer and is involved on the football side daily in constant communication with the members of our football committee and our manager.” Soccer. And Rodgers, he tells the finance people on the committee he wants a certain player and they tell him he can't have that player and give him a shortlist of players they as none football people have chosen instead. "There have also been times when Rodgers has been left to pick from a shortlist which didn’t include his initial targets. The best example of that was last summer when he was given a choice between Mario Balotelli and Samuel Eto’o at the end of the window." It should be a straight case of the manager asks the board to sign his first choice player and the financial people in the boardroom give him a yes or no if its a "no" the manager makes another choice based on their financial restrictions and the amount they are prepared to spend. How can they ever sack Rodgers if he's not totally responsible for the players signed by the club? http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spor...ws/liverpool-fcs-transfer-committee---9575259
Surely we knew this was the case....Lambert never seemed a particularly BR signing....but him AND Balo in the same window? No way In fairness after the first window he had I'd not have given BR free reign either. Joe ****ing Allen The problem is that no one else has a ruddy clue either
i posted this on transfer thread earlier no? the only parts i found interesting were the choice rodgers was "given" at end of last summer was e'tto and balotelli... no mention of what the start choice was. ayre i think then says each andeveryon on is approved by rodgers seems rodgers picked balotelli out but was obviously not on his list at start at all. I think greez is right saying no would have been the bolder braver move.
i do agree that the committe should actually have said to rodgers you can have 15mil.. thats where we are now or maye it was 20mil... why was it a choice at least a couple weeks form ned. why did he not refuse and say hey X and Y are available for that and **** you if you don't think they are right i'll resign.
In my comment, I originally put that comment as number one. Number two was going to be "why didn't he walk away on principal grounds?" but realised that would be a silly question.
Because he loves the sound of his own voice and believes all the Blarney he spouts to the press, his principals start with FSG and end with Brendan.
If this has posted already turn this thread into a nug porn thread (pictures of lovely bud) any how the echo has revealed the 6 members and their roles on the famous committee. Check out committee member Mike Edwards's profile, he's an IT and Analytical expert, his well paid job at LFC consists of checking global player performance stats online And having a say on players we sign based on the evidence he found on his PC. Astro would leave Mike in the shade when it comes to stats.

"Family come first" Very noble reason for leaving but when he accepted the LFC job his family remained in London instead of moving nearer to the club just in case a family crisis like he's faced occurs. Hope his son makes a full recovery.
