Liverpool & Everton chase QPR star by SportsDirect News Reporter 7th February 2014 4:53pm GMT Merseyside rivals Liverpool and Everton could battle it out for the signing of Stephane Mbia this summer, SportsDirect News understands. The Queens Park Rangers midfielder is currently on a season-long loan deal with La Liga side Sevilla, and has impressed with his performances in La Liga. Mbia seems unlikely to return to Loftus Road even if QPR manage to win promotion back to the Premier League, but appears to still have other admirers in the English top flight. Liverpool are looking to bolster their midfield options, with the Reds currently over-reliant on the injury-prone Lucas Leiva to play that holding role in the middle of the park, and see Mbia as a good option for that position. Everton are also looking to strengthen in that area, with Gareth Barry only at Goodison Park on loan for the season from Manchester City. Sevilla are also thought to be hopeful of keeping the Cameroon international permanently, though they may be unable to compete financially with Liverpool and Everton if they do pursue their interest.
Like the one about Adel going to Milan you just closed?! Maybe M'bia will move to Liverpool, maybe not, but perhaps our recent poor Training staff and Management has left us all under-rating our players. I wasn't sure M'bia was good enough for the PL, but if he really is impressing in La Liga, he must be.
I can't work out if your having a little dig there Ossie? If you want the Taarabt thread re-opened just let me know. I thought it had run it's course. It was going around in circles as per and our posters were resorting to taking snidey swipes at each other... as per. As for M'bia he was a joke for us, he supplied the pass for Remy's wonder goal and had a good game at right back at Old Trafford which we subsequently lost 3-1 anyway. Other than that and giving his shirt away to a fan after every home game ( Which he stopped doing towards the end ) I can't think of many more positives. My lasting memories of him are rolling around the pitch feigning injury every five minutes. It was so embarrassing, he makes Chico Flores look like a statue. Oh, and he had a few shots on goal that were so wide of the mark they're still rolling down the Uxbridge Road. As for impressing at Sevilla he has played nine games out of twenty two. A ratio of about forty per cent.
People just getting Narky nines...Need Watford to win and us to batter Derby then it'll be ok.. How you been mate..you been missing for a while. hope all is ok for you?
Hi mate, I'm always looking in, I sometimes don't always get the the time to post as much as I'd like to. The night shifts tend to incapacitate me for a couple of days afterwards of late, especially now I'm becoming a bit of an old git. We had an arsonist running around torching everything on our first night shift and a school go up on our second. It knocked the bollocks out of me, I had to go to bed for the whole of the next day. Firefighting is definitely a young man's game. My wife has recently lost her Mum and Dad, so I have to try and keep her spirits up, getting caught on here is not the best way of achieving that, but she's a good girl and realises how much the R's mean to me. I was impressed to see you make it down to Melbourne for the meet. That was an incredible turnout. Well done to you and everyone involved. The Aussie R's and our Irish R's really do our club proud. It's quite humbling really when you consider the effort that our overseas R's put into supporting our team. If last season's squad put as much effort in as you lot we'd be playing Champions League Football this season.
If interest in Mbia from Liverpool and Everton is genuine, then I know even less about what makes a good footballer than everybody already knows to be the case with me.
Won't he be out of contract at the end of the season? In which case it doesn't matter to us. As an aside, is there a list somewhere of when our players contracts are up?
Steve Sayce at the Indy Rs has done one. http://www.indyrs.co.uk/messageboard/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=16006
I might be in minority of 1 here but I think the lad has real potential. Sadly we didn't see it that much but I reckon with the right support and coaching he could become a very good player in a very good team.
Agree. Him, Diakite, Granero all very good players. We are seeing the same effect with Tom Carroll at the moment. I have no idea what we do to them.
He'd probably be ok there as his complete ****ing idiocy wouldn't be exposed with better players around him and maybe he wouldn't feel a club of Everton or Liverpool's stature was beneath him as he did with us, the dozy leech.
Hi! No, no dig! I agree that thread had "run it's course". I was (trying) to be ironic about you suggesting this rumour about M'bia was another joke thread, when, when rumour started circling that Adel was linked with Milan, there were some on here who thought that must be a joke as well! My point is that I think we tend to underrate many of our players, Adel going to Milan was no joke, perhaps M'bia will go to Liverpool, and it is the poor management and training staff that are not getting as much out of our players as they should do, and do, or think they can do, at bigger Clubs than ours.

No matter what happens regarding promotion, someone needs to go shopping at the end of the season...looking at the players we have remaining on the books at the end of this season, we need some serious beefing up of the squad. I know we have a lot of loanees to help us make the jump up to PL, but didn't realise how threadbare it would be come June - hope TF has some deep pockets....
A holding midfield player that can play centre-back and is wanted by Sevilla and maybe Liverpool and Everton? Nah, not good enough for us.
