Rumour mill.....I should really stop reading these silly sites. But grapevine says that Liverpool are after Bertrand, and Chelsea are considering using him as part of a deal for Suarez. http://www.givemesport.com/359339-paper-talk-14-july No.....and Nooooooooooooo!!
Would happily do it if we went for Shaw. Not going to happen though as he's just signed a new deal. Unfortunately for Bertrand he and Cole are at the wrong ages to be playing with one another, Cole isn't old enough to be benched yet and Bertrand isn't young enough to be either.
Stupid article, it states Liverpool have inquired, not sure if true or not, and the the journo decides to just make up the bit about Suarez possibly being part of the deal given that Chelsea have lots of cash and Suarez has been making noises. The Journos opinion and only that Nothing in that piece is based in any sort of fact
Thats the impression I got aswell, that the Suarez part was made up. I dont think Chelsea have made any enquiries into Suarez at all. As far as I was aware, it was Arsenal and Real that were battling it out over him.
I really cant see this happening! Are we really in the hunt for Suarez? I saw him heading off abroad!
Suarez will go where he thinks he'll get a chance to win things. Liverpool don't have to sell though so I can see him going to Madrid or nowhere.
Bertrand is extending Cole's career. They are perfect together in the same squad and Jose has stated many times the same philosophy Ranieri had, at least two equally talented first team players for every position. It is a tricky thing to do because firstly you need the resources to buy or produce two players that at top level, plus the players themselves hate it, they want number one spot permanently. Many are on contracts that significantly increase based on appearances and win bonuses. Then of course you need the number three at the same position, this is what Chelsea call the youth team. Chelsea Youth players don't just have to dislodge one seasoned pro from his place, they have to compete with two. You may think this gives a greater opportunity and this is what you tell them to keep them at the club, but actually because you have the insurance of two capable players for every position, for management the pressure is off to field a top team and the youngsters only get as far as the bench and friendlies. The only reason we have seen a few Chelsea youth come through is because of the amount of competitions we've been in and the willingness of recent managers to rotate........OK I'll say it, Benitez. Rotation is a necessity for most clubs, often enforced by injury. Not at Chelsea because our first team knows the two player system and are comfortable with being replaced from with in that 24/26 man squad.
I can't see this being true as I don't think we would sell Suarez to anyone in the PL. Bertrand is a very good player though I'd love us to sign him.
I not only believe that Suarez would be a great acquisition for you, but I think you can take him off 'Pool, if you want to.
