    So, what do we think?

Liverpool come into this with the third best home record in the league. Average away, but better than Man City and Arsenal when it comes to home games.

Newcastle's away form is good, and is only bettered by the top 5 teams. This is good news. However, we appear slightly less able to grind out draws away compared to home.

As for injuries, Carroll is out it seems. I'm not sure what to make of this. He would have either been very up for it and eager to score against us, or his heart wouldn't have been in it against his former boyhood team, so he could have ended up being a weak link in the Liverpool attack. We'll never know now.

Also, at this stage, we have no new injuries to speak of. Krul is likely to be in for Harps again, which in my opinion, isn't such a bad thing at all. I've read an article in which Nolan spoke about having a groin strain during the match with Blackpool, which explains why he barely moved. Let's hope that's gone by Sunday.

I'm also hoping for Ireland to make a starting debut. He's been one of the better players in the few times he's played, and hopefully he's close enough to match fitness now to be considered for a start. We need to see him play.

    Here's my team:

    ----------------Krul---------------
    -Simpson -- Willo -- Colo -- Enrique
    -Barton -- Tiote -- Ireland -- Jonas
    ---------------Nolan--------------
    ------------Lovenkrands----------

I've considered every combination of players, and this one genuinely seems like it has the best chance of scoring goals. When Ameobi plays we sometimes may as well just have 10 men, I swear. We need to make use of our best players here.

As for predictions, I don't know. Winning is unlikely, but you never know with Newcastle. If we play well (like we can) we can draw. If we play anywhere near how we did against Blackpool, we'll lose.

Nolan said hes fit now mate <ok>
I would love this lineup but can't see Pards dropping Shola unless he pulls up in warmup.

I honestly think Liverpool are in a false position...because they are a **** team!
we have what it takes to beat them if we actually decide to turn up

I think we may suprise people here. We always up our game against the bigger teams and im sure the lads will want to do the double over Liverpool.

Would like your suggested line up but can just see Pards going for Shola and Lover up front then bringing Ireland on after the half.

No thoughts on the result to be honest, I don't wanna predict this match.

Blackpool beat them at Anfield so it is possible, however saying that I'm finding it hard to remain optimistic.

Ireland needs to start games, how are we going to decide whether or not to sign him based on 30 minute sub apps?

Is he fully match fit yet?

If yes, then yeah, I agree.

He was supposedly fit for the bench for Villa, and Liverpool game will be 3 weeks later than that so surely he can start now?

we've shown that despite looking horribly worrying at time like Bolton and Stoke our defence can withstand alot and i think our 1st choice midfields one of the toughest to break down in the league. i'm hoping for a point but i think we'll struggle to hold them back
