We needed a match a week before the Capital One Cup Final, but Liverpool away will be a tough challenge.

After beating QPR today we have 37 points in the bag. Will Sir Michael be (a) brave, and go for our second win at Anfield this season to break the 40 point barrier or (b) reckless - and use it as a game to rest a few players before the big match and field some of our under 12's?

Neither! Expect our Plan C approach. A solid defensive display to frustrate our opponents followed by, hopefully, a smash and grab in the last ten minutes <ok> Brendan will be out to smash us after the Swans 3-1 victory at Anfield, so expect a rearguard action.

Whatever happens, it is likely to be an exciting week on our board with the Mods working overtime <laugh>

    Up the Jacks!

Question 1, is Dai doing the match thread ?

Question 2, if Terrorwit, Swim, Jäger, Aussie, Phil or myself visit the Liverpool board will we get banned ?

Question 3, did we really need to reschedule this game, because with Wembley on our minds the week after and the possiblity our players will be thinking of it, it actually means Liverpool and Brenda (Billy Liar) Rodgers might have an off
chance of beating us now (for a
    change) ?

I have no doubt Laudrup will rotate the Squad well, surely in favour of the cup, as we only need 3 points for safety, and with 12 games still to go, hell there's bound to be a win in there somewhere! So I would like to see some of our key players rested, or at least on the bench!..........<ok>

PS: Dai is going to surface, mark my words! Even if it's on the Scouser board.............<cheers>

I'm pretty sure you'll be safe with 35 points this year. If the bottom-three continue their points-per-match ratio Wigan and Villa will end up with 31-32 points...

Don't expect to much rotation in the rest of the season as we don't have any midweek matches left..

Liverpool also have an away leg on the thursday in the Europa, so we could be in a simlar position rotation wise, as I think it's agreed that they won't get European football next season unless they win the Europa Cup so they won't be jeopardising many first team regulars! Interesting indeed !

I think Laudrup will want to win but i think he may resy Michu, judging by the way he wanted off the field yesterday Michu might be getting tetchy about the Wembley thing and if thats the case its best to keep him out and let him play his dream final. I think Liverpool will have a stronger squad then us so may take advantage if we rest a couple.

    It's difficult.

On one hand we're in FAR better shape than last time we met - we're third in the form table, three losses in 18 (I believe) etc. We're finally scoring goals.

Two problems; we're prone to freak defensive errors and we have a tight fixture list with two hard matches v Zenit (who really are a very capable outfit).

Throw in the added spice of the Brendan factor... who knows really. Wouldn't be surprised if we lost all our matches over the next fortnight, although I hope we perform v West Brom and yourselves.

    Michu's second goal btw... lovely.

As well as our squad is coming along, I still don't think we have enough strength in depth to play a cup final and Liverpool away on the same day, so I think a reschedule was probably the best option :D

I'm going on record now to say that I have nothing against Liverpool FC or the vast majority of their posters.

The only ones are those two mods Ze and the other prat that I have a problem with. I wonder which one wil get me banned

Dill i sorry mate but your hatred of certain people and teams is a right turn off and not contributing to football discussions one bit...You should seriously think now about stepping down as a mod because you are making the rest of us look silly with your constant bile against teams especially qpr and liverpool.....Banter is encouraged and a bit of fun but im sorry what i have read from you goes beyond banter and is just bile that as a mod who suppose to represent the jack army that i dont want my name associated with...step down as a mod as you are a disgrace to Swansea city.....sorry pal but it has to be said...
