Lets have a bit of fun.

5 a side football can be fun.

Imagine the PL did a season of 5 a side.

What do you think Liverpool's best 5 a side team would be? Picking both quality and tactical selections.

And where do you think Liverpool would fair in a 5 a side league compared to 11 a side?

I'd go for a team that is very good at quick, forward moving one and two touch football, with a good finisher at the end. So I'm going for skill, pace and shape.

    Keeper is easy.

    Mignolet.

For the remaining for 4 I see 2 options. Two ball playing defenders with quickk goal scorers running ahead. Or one solid defender with a central pivot player deliver for two reverse wingers, who gets the goals.

    -----------Mignolet-----------
    -----gerrard-----Lovren------
    --Sturridge---------Sterling--

    or

    ---------Mignolet---------
    ----------Lovren----------
    ----------Lallana----------
    -Sturridge------Sterling--

I certainly see goals in this team. But if it doesnt dominate possession the defense may struggle.

Lets see what you guys can come up with.

  2. Migs
    Lovren
    Hendo
    Sterling - Studge

Five-a-side is about fast passing and movement. Plus Hendo and Sterling both defend too.

5 a side quite important for goalie to have good distribution, and migs doesn't really, although jones isnt much better probably.

    i would go for

    Migs
    Lovren
    hendo Sterling
    Studge

similar to gerrez but have studge up top on own.

  4. Positions don't really matter in five-a-side either, only Migs and Lovren would be disciplined really. Having said that, I usually play the defender role but rarely stay there. I finished as top goal scoring in a five-a-side league once having been the sole defender all season <laugh>

    very true,

did think about putting Agger in for that reason ie ball playing CB who can score with his feet type thing, but felt it needed more authority at the back and discipline which Lovren would offer.

Why not stick the old fella in goal as every other 5 a side does

    Stick Gerrard in goal

We're all over looking Lambert's passing ability and strength. Decent finisher to.

anyone have him in for that reason if he was still playing for us, or still stick with Lovren?

surprised not more of Sakho in lineups.

  16. I'd have picked Agger instead of Lovren of he'd still been at the club. Not for 11-a-side though

    gerrard
    Sturridge
    Coutinho markovic
    Sterling

That's how to go, tricky small and pacey. Gerrard can pass it and stand in goal and sturridge can put hi foot through it from half way and score
