    ANDY CARROLL, Liverpool’s record £35million striker, has been ordered to lose weight before he makes his long-awaited debut.

    England international Carroll, 22, signed from Newcastle with just minutes of the January transfer window remaining, has not played a game this year after tearing a thigh muscle.

    The inactivity has meant that Carroll has bulked up. Now football’s costliest Englishman has been placed on a rigorous fitness schedule designed to return the Geordie to his prime weight.

    Liverpool haven’t placed any time schedule on his return, knowing the injury to his kicking leg is hard to manage.

    And they believe Carroll should lose a few pounds.

    Liverpool are confident Carroll will be back in action next month, denying he will not play this season.

    Newcastle have a clause in the transfer documents entitling them to 25 per cent of any sell-on fee for Carroll.

    Meanwhile, Liverpool hope to sign Carroll’s former Newcastle team-mate, Jose Enrique.

    But they face competition from AC Milan, who want to sign the stylish Spanish left-back for £12m.

    The big tart should get his hair cut, that would lose him a few pounds! Either that or have a night out in a casino with MA, that would most likely lose him a few pounds!

    Has anyone even noticed the sell-on clause bit? if Liverpool sell Carroll for £40million we get £10million! Hope that bit's true!

    Or does that mean we get 25% off when we buy him back at the end of the season?
