Ronald Koeman's pre-Liverpool press conference: - First of all, we are very happy to have signed Shane Long - Since the start of summer, he was on our list of players - Tomorrow we have our last training session - The team will be decided tomorrow morning - We have ambition as a club - We've shown that in the last few weeks - We've lost some good players - We have bought new players that are good - Shane Long is important - We needed that type of striker - We didn't have that type of striker before Shane - You can always discuss if a player is worth the fee - But the clubs pay a lot of money in England - Everybody knew Southampton had a lot of money - Maybe clubs and agents used that - But it is normal in business - As the manager, what is important is that I have good players and competition - I am very pleased, the club did everything for me, to bring in good players - We are still looking forward to bringing one or two more in - We need a winger, the club is working on that - Morgan had a very good week of training - Last week he wasn't in shape to play - The decision on the team will be taken tomorrow - Morgan is not for sale - He will still be here when the window closes - Liverpool is a great start for us - It's a tough one - But everybody starts on nil points - Everybody has to show their qualities - I believe we are very well prepared for Sunday - I know what winning at Anfield is like - We are ready for that - Suárez is a great player - But if you look at their squad, they have so many good players - I think, maybe, Liverpool are stronger this season - (laughter at comment saying pundits are predicting a relegation battle) - Not expecting a relegation battle - There are a lot of positions between 8th and relegation - Not expecting that - I don't think so - We lost some players but we brought in new ones - Pre-season was difficult but the players are here now - Until the deadline we can even make some more changes - Every team has the same problem - We are prepared - I believe in our qualities - I believe in our ambition - I believe we can have a good season - Of course we can match last season - The quality is there - We still have a strong team - The best way to show that is against Liverpool this Sunday - Of course you'd like to have everyone from the first day of pre-season - It's not like that in Southampton - It's not like that in other teams - We know that - When the season starts, you have to be prepared and you have to win - That's not a problem for us - I know what team will play - But first I need to tell the players what we will do
One or two signings. Good. Winger mentioned and the other one must be a CB due to his Vlaar loving. When Schneiderlin oesin January or the Summer, I think we'll bring in Clasie who loves Koeman.
Very good points made my RK. Like his interviews and actually enjoy watching them. Never could be arsed with watching the last guy, always very tiring.
Hopefully. For now a CB and a LM/RM/winger (Lulic maybe) and i'd be pretty happy considering how this window started.
