Because Birmingham are in the Europa cup and playing on thursday, so the game was put back to Sunday, so not on tv on Saturday and won't be shown on tv on sunday because sky will be showing a Prem game then as normal. Unless you are a long way from Soton, how about going to the game instead?
I see you are a bit of a narky prk CBK, if I could go then I would, I can't and thus was lookin forward to the live coverage on Saturday.
Oooooooooooooooooh get you. I will in future not answer any of you questions, just in case you get a bit upset.
Balls, i didn't know the coverage was cancelled... how horribly disappointing. Looks like it's BBC 'live' text again this week
Moving the game to Sunday is most inconvenient as it means I cannot go! So don't expect us to win as my input will be absent.
i thought the football league gets money from them to show a certain amount of games and they dish out the amount of games evenly between the clubs. 5 per club isnt it? otherwise people would moan.
We have a few other games on sky anyway, well more than we usually get. And don't forget the p*mpey game will be on ITV or BBC at Xmas time. But I am surprised they manage to fit any other games in during the season after the 50 Man Utd games they get bullied into showing, just to keep fergie of their backs.
We were due to play Newcastle about 10 years ago on sky, it got postponed. Sky didn't show another game.
Only the premier league contract specifies a minimum number of games each team has to appear live. (hence whey sky showed Norwich west brom, fulham b'burn at the weekend to kill two birds with one match if you know what I mean). The football league tv deal is just for a certain number of live matches in the whole season. Doesn't specify what clubs get shown, hence why Newcastle were on nearly every Sky & BBC championship live game a couple of seasons ago.
Just looking through the sky tv guide now. Guess who's live again at the weekend. Yea you guessed it... man utd.
Is that a shock? I think I heard on the radio that only 2 or 3 of Man Utd's league games this season are not scheduled to be on Sky/ESPN and will kick off on Saturday at 3pm. Simple reason, when Man Utd are on telly, they get the biggest ratings. Biggest ratings = biggest advertising income.
Yea I understand all that. But it should really be a set amount of games for each club. Otherwise if you cant afford/live to far away/etc.. to get an actual match, the only time you get to see your team play is when they play man utd. It takes the piss.
I was going to watch on TV but am now going instead. That's what I suggest to the people who are moaning about no live coverage
Never going to happen. TV always has favoured the big clubs, always will for the reasons I gave. I'm sure at a point not too far away each club will be able to sell live coverage over the internet of all their games. Clearly, they will only do it for the right money and to not put off people going to games either. They will also have to wait until the security is tight enough to stop people using peer to peer to watch games for free etc.
