LATEST: Four in fresh speculation Confession time, we've all had a drink, but nonetheless some quality transfer news, speculation, gossip and rumour that has come our way from some of our sources (not the alcoholic sauce) that should provide plenty of debate on the CI messageboards to get your festive teeth in to. Peace... Now, once again, we're not confirming or denying what we've heard, that's for the 'professional media journalists' in our region to establish, but while they drag their heels and refuse to get off their lazy festive backsides, CI will give you the lowdown on what you could be reading and hearing about in the coming days. FIrst up, Seyi Olofinjana could be set for a move away from the club despite only just returning from serious injury. Don't be surprised if the club attempting to buy the Nigerian international from the Tigers will be fellow Championship promotion rivals - and Boxing Day opponents - Middlesbrough. Secondly, Robbie Brady will probably learn the fate of his future in between Christmas and New Year ahead of the January transfer window opening, as dialogue with Manchester United continues. Don't let the proposed house in the area the Irishman is looking to buy influence this being a done deal, though. Meanwhile, speculation continues to link City with a Sunderland defender as we reported earlier on our website. Indeed, word reaching us, leads us to believe talks between the club and the player have taken place already over a possible move to East Yorkshire. Whether City can pull off a deal to bring Michael Turner back to the Circle though, remains open to conjecture. Finally, the Billy Sharp rumours refuse to die down and our sources are indicating Barmby will get £3m to spend on players in January, plus all the funds he can raise from player sales. However, early indications from Barmby's meeting with the Allam's yesterday, points towards nothing being signed sealed and delivered on the permanent management front until both parties are happy with the squad. Make of it what you will City fans, eat, drink and be merry! Happy Christmas to one and all!
Well if the rumours are true with regard to Turner, I for one would not be to upset. After all he's hardly set the world alight with his performances for us. Turner out and Samba in. Most if not all would welcome that move.
Yep, I dont mind Turner but he is very much a Bruce type of defender, not sure what MON will thik of him.
Turner out and Samba in, that would be class, but recon Samba is destined for a top six club, unfortunately.
Turners ok, he´s brave and committed, but frankly, we need better. Samba, Bassong, Huth, Shawcross... Basically, a lad who is dominant in the air and who has a bit of class. Samba is the dream.
