Well this is from a week ago on sky sports, but haven't seen it linked to on here. Just think that if the guy is not fit enough to get into the first 11 when that is what's needed, we shouldn't offer him a deal as we don't have the time to get him upto match fitness in that position. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,,12040_7215319,00.html
I wouldn't even say that! We had two guys on trial, and Brendan picked one of them. Sour grapes is all.
He was probably disappointed that his trial came to nothing. Can't fault him for that,so let's wish him good luck for the future, and hope that Mr.Rodgers has made the right chioce in Moras.
He looked a sound player to me on video so I'm wondering if there's something besides a football reason. He is 6ft4", powerful in the air, gets a few goals, is comfortable on the ball and passes accurately long and short. The more I write the more I wonder........... Come to that, is Moras so fit that he can slot in immediately?
Well he was released from videotron (or whatever ) so there must be something, he was loaned to the saints in a february and released in april, why do that as a season is coming to a close ? you can view youtube as much as you like, it's the best bits of a player with god awful parts edited out.
Yes, I did concede in an earlier post on a different thread that the video would show only his best bits - just pointing out that the best bits seemed very good indeed. It would take more than a few days on trial and one reserve game to prove things one way or the other. Nevertheless, Buck's judgement has to be trusted on this.
Ivor i watched this guy against Newcastle and to be honest and yes it is only one game, he wasnt good enough from what i saw in that game. Was quite good in the air, but that was as far as it goes. It is simple this guy wasnt good enough.
Was at the match too. Moras was certainly the better of the two & when he was substituted, I knew it was because they'd seen enough of him for a contract!! Maybe I can understand Liptak's frustration due to that fact. But he didn't set the world alight in that match for me. The whole back 4 were woeful in the 1st 25mins (Toon went 3 up), to be honest. Understandably, they were all playing together for the 1st time & only 1 of them would have had any sort of match fitness, Alfei!! But he had a torrid game!! Still, after the back-four's shocking start, Moras did improve over the game & seemed more assured of the two & pretty composed on the ball too. In fact, it was 2 balls from him that led to our 1st 2 goals. A long ball out of defence to Moore for his goal & then a great defence to attack pass to Jazz, which led to Dobbie's 1st!! So has some vision too.......
Can understand a player being disappointed but it's unprofessional to go bleating to the media about it. And yes - recent pub trivia quiz about the fastest sending off when my son was in Uni last year - answer: Walter Boyd. He knew because we were at the game all those years ago. Loved Walter though. Couldn't head the ball for toffee - even worse than Jace the Ace, but a real character. Still playing in Jamaica I believe and he's pushing 40.
he's just cheesed off because he feels like a pleb, he probably told people and friends that he was already signed up.
Oh well that's life, I'm sure he'll get over it!.................... please log in to view this image
there must be a bigger picture with this guy as he has failed to impress with the gulls???? Seagulls opt against Liptak, Poyet does not offer contract to Hungarian trialist. The 26-year-old former Southampton loanee had been training with the Seagulls after a similar stint at Swansea City. However, Poyet will not be retaining the defender after confirming the Hungary international was not what they were looking for. "He did very, very well. He trained well," he told The Argus. "It was a tough decision but he was not ready to play 90 minutes on Saturday, for example, and he's not what we are looking for in that position." Loss Liptak's agent Ferenc Fulop remains at a loss as to why his client did not earn a deal, but says there is plenty of interest in the defender. "The manager praised him during his trial," Fulop told www.origo.hu. "We don't know why he wasn't offered a contract. I think Zoltan did his best. "Gyori ETO FC are interested in him but he has other offers too, some teams would like to sign him in January."
Attitude .... he was originally released by Sousa at his previous club. I am thinking it's attitude - something just doesn't click, might be a language barrier, or an unwillingness to be coached.
Attitude might be part of it. But there is an even bigger problem. He is simply not good enough for neither the premier or the championship. Thats why us and Brighton are not interested in signing him. sorry to be blunt, but its true.
