Any of you ****s use This? Thinking about putting it on my old laptop to try and speed it up a bit while I decide whether I want to buy a new laptop or a desktop that runs something other than win8 or anything by Apple.

Will be used for cad, 3d modelling and image editing. And "special interest " videos.

Not sure about the compatibility of your CAD software/image editing stuff.

You can watch as much porn as you want though <ok>

It'll definitely make your laptop much faster.

I have it on one machine, cannae watch lovefilm or netflix but I've been able to do everything else. You will find some cad freeware that will be compatible with whatever you usually use.

    That's the important stuff covered.

I can probably improvise the rest. Should I dual boot it first or install to a usb just incase it's **** or will I not get a true impression of performance?

You can boot it off a 4Gb USB stick, it uses nearly no resources.

It works pretty much the same as Windows when you install it, it's quite easy to get to grips with if you're not doing anything fancy.

Have you tried downloading and installing McAfee?

They are doing a free trial just now, if I were you, I'd live in Grangemouth too.

I did but it clashed with my Norton Internet security. So I turned it off.

You'll need to wire up to your modem and download a team of drivers before you can work with wifi!
