http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/8824227/ Sky Sports understands four Premier League clubs have expressed an interest in West Bromwich Albion striker Peter Odemwingie. The 31-year-old forward has been looking for a route out of The Hawthorns for some time, with a deadline day fiasco in January seeing him fail to secure a switch to Queens Park Rangers. With there little chance of him being offered a clean slate with the Baggies, it is expected that the Nigeria international will be on the move this summer. As a proven goalscorer at the highest level, it comes as no surprise to find that numerous clubs are readying an approach for his services. It is understood that West Ham United, Hull City, Sunderland and Fulham would all welcome Odemwingie into their ranks - joining Crystal Palace in the chase for his services. He still has a year left to run on his contract at West Brom, but reports suggest that a bid of around £1.5million could be enough to lure the Baggies to the negotiating table. Thoughts?
Got to question his attitude. Probably linked to us cos journos know we're in the market for forwards
After the QPR gate scandal last year I'd say no thanks. Prior to that I'd have been interested but no thanks now
My understanding was that the 2 clubs were in negotiations and the lad was keen on the move, so he headed to QPR s the deadline was looming. He also said he had an agreement with the chairman to say he could go, but the fee was never agreed and Sky leapt on it and made him out to be the villain of the piece. I thought at the time, 'has he really done owt wrong, or was he just trying to make sure if a fee is agreed he can get medical etc done'.
Not even a gamble mate at that price, I'm all for all the moral correctness we hear round here at the minute, but I also know that guys that score 30 in 80 in the big boys league are rare as hens gnashers for that price.
Even if he was a complete lemon, and we released him, in Premier League terms that's nothing. One year deal and an option for a second, worth a stab.
