Ryan Sessegnon has been called uo for England U21s for matches against Poland and Germany.

Tim Ream is in the USA squad but both Tom Cairney and Kevin Mac have been overlooked by Scotland.

What a terrific commendation for our Academy, we have three players in the England U18 squad heading out to Dubai for 3 matches.

Goal keepers Luca Ashby-Hammond and George Wickens (boy has he come on in the last 6 months), together with full back Cody Drameh.

Woo-hoo! The Germany game is being played at Bournemouth's ground, and I've already got tickets for it. Time to get the 'He's one of our own' chant going.

Steven Sessegnon was in the England U19 team (think at LB) that had a 4-1 win over the Czech Republic at St Georges earlier today. That's the perfect start to their group stage qualifiers for the Euros. Next up is Greece on Saturday

Same result for Luca Ashby-Hammond and England U18s - this time 4-1 over Japan. Next up in the Sport Chain Cup out in Dubai are Czech Republic on Friday and Mexico on Sunday.

Our lads are doing well with England Youth. This time up it's Harvey Elliott.

Harvey played for the England U17 team earlier in their 5-2 win over Switzerland in the Euro Qualifiers. This was the squad's first game of the Group Stage, being played in Denmark.

Ryan Sessegnon sat on the bench last night as England U21s failed to break down a stubborn Polish defence. The match ended 1-1.

One youngster that slipped under the radar. Connor McAvoy played at the back for Scotland's U17 side midweek. Unfortunately they lost 2-0 to a strong Portuguese team.

Strong with both feet, the centre back is a regular with our U18s and signed 'scholarship' forms last summer.

Oh, oh. A 2-1 defeat to Greece leaves the Youth team's chances of qualifying hanging by a thread, and out of their control. Missing a penalty didn't help.

Steven was again at left back in the game.

Despite have their goalie sent off, England U17s fought out a hard earned 0-0 draw against Croatia. Harvey was on the bench.

Next up is the host team Denmark and a win takes the boys through.

Both George Wickens and Cody Drameh each make their full debuts for England Under-18s against the Czech Republic last Fiday. Unfortunately the match ended in a narrow 1-0 defeat. The Young Lions did however manage to take second spot in the Sports Chain Cup in Dubai by beating Mexico 3-2 in their final match yesterday. Cody came on at half-time.

Terry Ablade scored for Finland U18s on Saturday, but it wasn't enough as Montenegro struck back twice to a claim a 2-1 win.

The twins are out today. Steven Sessegnon for England U19s and Ryan for the U21s.

Regrettably we're not off to good start. The U19s could only manage a 2-2 draw against Denmark, which means the team won't be in the Euro Finals next summer; for the first time in 4 years.

Ryan (at left back I believe) and the U21s are up against Germany. The match is down in Bournemouth, so I'll leave it to the Captain and his lads to give us the low down.

Ryan was indeed playing at left back and had a good - rather than great - game. He had a couple of good attacking moments and some solid defending, but didn't really shine as he can when played further forward. England lost 2-1 to a last minute German goal which was harsh, but probably meant it was the right result. I thought we were very lucky to go in level (1-1) at half time after the Germans had been by far the better team in the first half - their movement meant that they were cutting through our midfield at will, and their players who ran with the ball seemed to be more effective than ours. The second half was more even, to be fair, with Phil Foden raising his game and becoming more influential, but if anyone deserved a late winner it was the Germans. Hopefully I'll see another away win when I'm next at Dean Court on April 20th!
