Lincolnshire Police has received Intelligence information that this match may be disrupted by people travelling to Lincoln with the intention of causing serious disorder in the city. In close consultation with the club, we have reviewed the situation and looked at the potential consequences if the game goes ahead. It has been decided to cancel the match on the grounds of public safety. Chief Inspector Kieran English said, “We understand that fans will be disappointed about the cancellation of this match but it is a friendly fixture rather than a league game and our primary concern is the safety and welfare of the general public. We have carefully assessed the plans and preparations we have in place for such events and have concluded, with regret, that the risk to the public is just too great. “We are very grateful to Lincoln City Football Club for agreeing to cancel this fixture on the grounds of safety of their fans and the public of Lincoln”. The Club will be making an official statement with regards to this in due course. This is a really strange story, how would anyone know if anywhere in Lincolnshire had been trashed? OB managed to get our pre-season with Newcastle cancelled, obviously it was because of our local rivalry, what with us being only 145 miles part.

Yeah there was that thing with the Cov fans a few years back and apart from the odd fight with Millwall (Not our fault) I have never seen any trouble other then minor handbags
