Just saw something on twitter from the GFN_France account (well worth a follow) about French sportsmen's salaries - it's come from L'Equipe, the top 50 is here:

    http://getfootballnewsfrance.com/20...t-french-sports-persons-list-the-footballers/

    1) Karim Benzema: €13m (Real Madrid):

    3) Franck Ribery: €11.5m (Bayern Munich):

    4) Nicolas Anelka: €11m (Juventus):

    6) Samir Nasri: €10.5m (Manchester City):

    7) Thierry Henry: €9.4m (New York Red Bulls):

    9) Yoann Gourcuff: €6.7m (Lyon):

    27) Yohan Cabaye: €4.2m (Newcastle)
    27) Abou Diaby: €4.2m (Arsenal)
    27) Jeremy Menez: €4.2m (PSG)
    30) Dijbril Cisse: €4.1m (QPR)
    30) Bafetimbi Gomis: €4.1m (Lyon)
    32) Eric Abidal: €4m (Barcelona)
    33) Kevin Gameiro: €3.9m (PSG)

    35) Younes Kaboul: €3.8m (Tottenham)

    37) Bacary Sagna: €3.6m (Arsenal)
    39) Blaise Matuidi: €3.5m (PSG)

    44) Loic Remy: €3.1m (QPR)
    45) Benoit Cheyrou: €3m (Marseille)
    46) Louis Saha: €2.9m (Lazio)
    46) Sebastien Squillaci: €2.9m (Arsenal)
    48) Jimmy Briand: €2.8m (Lyon)
    48) Olivier Giroud €2.8m (Arsenal)

Highlighted our lads, and a couple that surprised me (thought Giroud would've been on more).

So by my calculations (and a little help from google converter) Hatem and Cabaye are on about £70k a week...

Not sure about those Loic Remy figures? Also means our supposed Wage cap is non existent if true...

    Anyway, discuss!

The Remy figure doesn't ring true.

Could this not be including image rights and other things that sportsmen use to up their income?

Just read the linked article. They seem to be implying that the figures are representative of each players actual wealth, not wage.

Makes more sense regarding Remy. He'll top the list next year :emoticon-0102-bigsm

    I don't believe them:

Gameiro at PSG, signed for 10mill, he'd be on way more than that.

Sagna earning less than Distin??? That just made me laugh

Yes, the figures are net worth, not annual wage

Rmy will include part of his OM wage and the balance of the financial year his QPR one,
    Same for Giroud.
When the figures are annualised at the end of the next fiscal a real picture will be visible.

No mistake fella. The picture is still valid as the numbers will be accurate.
Just throwing an idea in (based on guesswork)
