Don't you just have to laugh (or cry). Love this extract from Martin Kettle's report, whoever he is:. "The next leader of the opposition will either be Jenrick or Badenoch. Jenrick, according to the blogger Sam Freedman, is “so unlikeable that he once lost a student union election in which he was the only candidate”. Badenoch, with her Dominic Cummings-like addiction to bluntness and provocation, but with even less of the track record to justify it, could start a fight in an empty room."
This Tory leadership represents a decent betting opportunity though Ron. 2 absolute spanners for the Tory faithful to choose from. Badenoch 4/11 and Jenrick 2/1. I’d be backing Jenrick all day long as I can’t see the blue rinse, nimby, curtain twitchers voting for a brown person. Remember these ****wits put Liz Truss in the hot seat for a few weeks.
You gotta smile at the way politics has crept back in via the "Lighten-up - have a laugh" thread, after the one covering this subject had been chucked-out. At least the lighten-up thread comes with a sombre warning "May contain adult material"
Recently watched a very good film from Nigeria called "The Trade", a tale of kidnappings there by organised crime gangs. Some fine acting from a really brilliant cast, with an outstanding performance by the leading actor, Blossom Chukwujekwu.
America is choosing its path forward, and the stakes could not be higher. Both candidates have presented stark visions for the future if they lose this election. Donald Trump says the country will "go to hell" and become "communist immediately" if he loses, while Kamala Harris describes her opponent as a "fascist" who wants "unchecked power". The opening lines from the write up on the BBC, just goes to show how bad things are with the mud-slinging and the fact that one of these idiots is going to get in...!!!
Germany engulfed by political crisis as Scholz coalition falls apart What the chuffin hell is going on in Germany hey Oddy...!!
The bottom bit of the report... The prospect of a Trump presidency has begun to concentrate minds in Berlin. It could harm the German economy with tariffs and undermine national security by rolling back support for Ukraine. Many have now come to the conclusion that Germany needs a united and effective government now more than ever. Trump to 'Make Germany Great Again'...!!
