I don't know if you can call this ITK or not..

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But I was told this yesterday.

A family friend is doing some building work for Brucie on his house (He recently built and sold a house to Jordan Henderson) and does quite a lot of work for footballers in general. Anyway according to him, Bruce gave him a phone call and told him to delay building because (and I quote) "I may not have a job up here in the next 2 weeks".

Now we've heard about this end of season inquiry and such, maybe Short really is as pissed off as we think.

    Just passing it on lads.

If this is true then there will be no new sigings for at least a couple of more weeks. so we can all calm down on transfer talk and have a good two week holiday.

rumours abound that villa are preparing to drop houllier because of his ticker and move for moyes. IF we do sack bruce (and though I'm inclined to think this would be a good decision for the right replacement, i'm far from certain), we better not bollocks it up again by not at moving for gollum's lookalike or o'neill. if those two sign on at new clubs and we then tell bruce he's no longer needed, i'll be gutted.

Perhaps this is the reason Gyan is in the squad today, maybe Brucie knows there's a lot more riding on the result of today's game than many expect?!

    OOoooh the plot thickens!! <yikes>

I don't think he would be telling a builder that though, do you? Some things you keep to yourself.

The Gyan bit is just typical Bruce so don't read too much into that. I can't see Bruce saying that to a builder whether he knows the lad or not so again rumour control, I want him gone but, reckon he'll be with us next season anyway. Todays game is neither here nor there nothing to prove for either team and, all the sacking has been completed for those two teams.

WHEN? When did he say this? If he said it two weeks ago, for example, it doesn't mean much now. If he said it this last week, I think the West Ham game might mean a bit more than we think.

What might be irking Ellis is, not that we've lost so many recently, but how we've lost them. We have to remember that probably the first quality outfield player the USA had was Claudio Rainer. But they'd already been to a couple of World Cup quarter finals by then, simply by running and chasing the opposition into the ground. Their sheer guts won them games. And that's what Ellis has not seen here for some time. It's a different perspective to ours. I doubt that any American will be happy with the way we've lain down too often.

It might well be that Sunderland need to work their socks off this afternoon. I'm not sure that winning or losing matters so much - but he'll be looking for work-rate.
