In the past 24 hours a number of things have sort of jogged the memory and I wonder are we as humans getting weaker and "expectation" is becoming the rule we live by? our main interest on here is of course football and when I had to cast my mind over compiling a list of worthy player from the past was my first criteria pen and pencil ...then a list of those that I thought stuck out … 73 names in my allotted 15 mins … but what it did do was refresh memories of games, standing on the terrace in all winds and weather. Expectation then hoped we win hoped it wasn't a big defeat or a nil nil draw Season started and hoped for promotion season ended and we were in the same division! …. at least …. now anything but top 6 or promotion and winning everygame is paramount and I think that is where the enjoyment factor of being a fan/spectator /supporter is becoming more defunct.
crisis with covid 19 .. went shopping last evening and part way round was a woman about 30's with 2 trolleys one had about 8 packs of 24 rolls of bog paper ….. I could not resist saying " if covid strikes it wont be distember but constipation that is the side effect" a couple of the isles were like something in cold war Russian shops!
member of staff said it had been like the last 2 days before Christmas tills were on a record!!!! no lettuce bought all my salad stuff and no lettuce or cucumbers!!!!…
food bank's what a con... my thinking! having gone through childhood until about 10years with rationing and recently saw a programme clip of a woman pleading poverty and only being able to survive on food banks it showed a 40+ inch tv.. 3 kids on game machines a kitchen that had more electrical gadgets than we have and the most outstanding a large overgrown garden ……. say no more .. the over weight individual would have lost pounds .. no stones/ kgs digging it and planting it ….. we did.. no charity back then!
As a kid shopping was at the local shop .. no supermarkets so everyday was almost a shop … paper bags but no recycling! tins always in 1's meat sliced /chopped up and wrapped in newspaper/ odd bit of greaseproof? So well done Tesco to make our shopping annoying no beans in packs of 4 or 6 gone is plastic... commendations …
the lord mayor ... over £1million a year he costs us closer to 2 I suspect .. THERE IS NOW A CAMPAIGN TO GET RID OF A MAYOR...… and that would be good .. if half of the people that didn't vote for THE PRESENT ONE voted to get rid of the mayor it would be a landslide .. and we would all be better off.. probably put an extra 50 police on our streets and keep open a home for the elderly …...

Italy has a very large export of fruit and veg to Europe …. if they are in lock down how are we going to get what they grow and is ready for export now … do they still export to "us"

I'm not sure how a total lockdown can possibly work anywhere in the world, as not everyone is able to work from home i.e health care professionals, emergency services & hospitals, shop/bank/government workers etc etc ?

From what I've seen most of the reported deaths are occurring in older people, especially those with underlying issues.
But mind you the Doctor in China who first blew the whistle on this Virus didn't look very old.....
