Let's suppose AW has two consecutive seasons of winning the EPL ( well, we can dream, can't we? ) and then decides to call it quits and retire at the top. In the past few months both Thierry Henry and Tony Adams have alluded to wanting to manage the club. Who would you fancy to succeed him?
Definitely not Father Adams and not Bergy until he has some experience - I was tempted to say Sam allardyce but thought the irony might be lost. Im not sure guardiola would be realistic in the medium term so I would guess we might end up with someone none of us have thought of...
Won't be Bergkamp, he doesn't want to manage, only coach. He can't fly. Won't be Adams, he needs a LOT more experience before he'll be let near a top team again. He doesn't really have the charisma. I wanted Villa-Boas but that chance has gone now. I honestly have no idea. What happened to Pat Rice retiring? Seemed the best chance for a new No2 to be groomed as Arsene's replacement for 2 years time. Shame Paddy V decided his future lay with Man City.
Why do people seem to think that the next manager should be an ex Gunner? That's the same stupid-ass thinking that goes on down at that ****ehole in N17....Ardiles, Hoddle etc. Whoever we get, I hope he he is picked by the decision makers having used their heads, not their hearts.
Well when I created the poll, I only went by the ex-Gunners who have recently expressed a desire to manage the club. I think Pep Guardiola would be great if he should ever want to cross the channel but going back to ex-Gunners, I'd like Dennis Bergkamp or Steve Bould too. Cheers All
I wouldn't go with a former player. Thierry has no managerial experience and Bergkamp is only coaching. Plus Tony Adams is in Azerbaijan (i think?) or some other Eastern Block country, trying to learn the managerial game. I'd go for somebody like Owen Coyle or Roberto Martinez.
