As far I can see he didn't make any racist comments, more "Lolz Muamba is dead, haha" type comments. While these comments are a bit out of order I don't think it deserves a jail sentence - I think the law is going a bit far deeming someone a convicted criminal because they have simply wrote something offensive, but not threatening or even racist.
I see it as the media blowing **** out of proportion and a bit of a witch hunt. If this didn't hit the media I doubt he would have got a prison sentence.
Only seen one tweet repeated in the papers and that certainly didn't warrant any more than a warning (if that). And the judge's comments about the whole world praying for Muamba... All seems a bit OTT to me.
I'd call for a mistrial on the basis of the judge bringing voodoo mumbo jumbo god balls into the situation.
Why should we be forced to show respect for some fanny who kicks a ball about? Where are the millions of "tweets" for any other **** who has heart troubles? Selective mopery is what it is. Fuck em all and leave 6 for the pallbearers
Put a massive dent in that lad's life just for a bit of thoughtless banter. If everyone got locked up for that, there'd be **** all people walking the streets.
He gets 56 days for posting offensive comments on the internet meanwhile serial thugs, thieves and benefits cheats get a stern telling off. Disgusting.
