I thought he did really well today, his subs and tactics, particularly in the second half were spot on, and not for the first time recently.

Our form since Christmas is nothing short of miraculous.

So, the question is has he won you lot around?

I had one slight wobble thinking he’s not able to change games. But that lasted a game or two.
I’ve enjoyed what lots called manningball.
I could see that we were trying to wear them down in the first half.

after some really wicked negative decissions early in the season we seem to have got a bit karma!

WOULD IT BE A GOOD THING TO GO INTO THE PREM?????

just 1 up season and we get around £75m [ £40m / £35m ] I assume we get a full payment for when in the prem and then 2 afterwards ?

OF COURSE IF WE SPEND ON 2 or 3 players [ total circa £40m ] the wages bill will follow them down! AND EXISTING players would have pay rises that need to be met we might easily have a wage bill of £30m? FIRST YEAR BACK IN CHAMPIONSHIP!
ps NOT BEING NEGATIVE just realistic!

    In short, yes he has
Whether we’ve become really hard to beat with a good team spirit to boot, or whether it’s perhaps because other teams in the league have underperformed, I’ll take it all day long
After the tragic loss of baby Theo it’s all credit to him to keep going and put us in with a chance of the unthinkable just a few months ago, long may it continue !

Must admit I rated him more or less from when he came here.. you could tell the passion he for the game and yes there has been wobbles along the way. As Rod mentioned, I too like his style of football, just wondered on occasions if we had the players to pull it off. He’s done well in my book.
Definitely the best we’ve had since LJ :emoticon-0103-cool:

When it’s done with pace and purpose it’s really good, when it just slow passing in the “horseshoe” it can be tedious, he said the same in his post match press conference yesterday when referencing this time last year.

I like Manning, he is not gobby and full of self admiration, he has quietly developed his side and style, we are reaping the benefits, he took over the baton from Nige with calm and confidence, the club and it's relationships, reputation, qualities had been stabilised without doubt by Nige and continues to improve to where we are now.

Manning has had his own tragic trials and tribulations but he has had a fantastic season, let us hope we have a successful conclusion.

This is what I hated when he first came here, just like the first half yesterday, tippy tappy football doing nothing, just passing it back and fourth, no movement off the ball nothing, awful to watch.

Second half was much better, and we look good playing the ball faster.

I like him just hate the tippy tappy nonsense style.

I am resigned to watching via computer screen / tv nowadays and unlike being there you get a different angle on the aspect of the game. From the stands you watch what your eyes are told to watch the ball / player with the the ball .. on your screen you see a much bigger picture and tend to be looking more down on the play than "across to it".
it is quite exasperating at times when you see the tippy tappy is being played as you see it from a wider angle and you see the various players moving into different areas off the ball ... down the flanks or occassionally down the middle.
What you also see is the shape of the defence beginning to change as the odd one or 2 join in to break the tippy tappy! At these points a strategic pass changes the whole pattern in the opposition half ... I suppose you could call it build up play................. and usually if it goes wrong there is usually 3 or more players covering defence or opposition quick break ...............

WHILST YOU HAVE THE BALL THEY DONT ... they are forced to run around to wherever the ball gets played! so if we are to believe that running around tires them out ... then it is worth the creep creep creep up the field.. harder to run back slowly than than forwards !

GJ was the best since AD.
We had a brilliant season with Cotts, an unbelievable spend fest with Junior and Ashton rectified and saved from FFP by Nige...:emoticon-0103-cool:
Now LM is the best since AD.

If, LM gets us to the play-offs, does that mean he places above SC in your list, as it was done at a higher level?

I have had confidence in LM from the start. At times my support has been tested. However a combination of the players gradualy understanding and having the confidence in how he wants them to play has seen an upturn in results. Easy playing in the horseshoe and keeping posession, more difficult to make penetrating runs and passes whilst retaining that posession. The players now seem to have the confidence to do that. I think both the players and LM are learning together. And that I think is very powerful.

Constantly passing along the back line, down either flank, to then rinse and repeat ad nauseam
