..just days after the deal. The most obvious reason is payment of course, or could there be something else brewing he has got wind of? One newspaper report today (MWN I think) states that those who should know are saying that the situation is dire atm and our club hangs in the balance.
This is slightly concerning me now. I have only had my first ever season ticket one day and may never get to use it. Wish I could have won that £161 milion yesterday night and helped Argyle out.
Wish I could have won that £161 milion yesterday night and helped Argyle out.[/QUOTE] Me too Joe. Welcome to the forum btw
I've just been off to read the dreaded article in the WMN. Not the best sort of news but is it dire? Maybe, to put a better spin on it, this is the powers that be trying to sell the deal to the supporters as being "the one and only" by putting the frighteners on. I would not mind betting that there is a plan B with Brent as the article suggests also. OK this may not be the best thing to have to happen given the calendar time scale but there is nothing in this article to suggest it would be a death nell for Argyle. It might complicate matters it's true. Ridsdale wants the club for a £1 and the Irish are willing to give it to him for that. Vested interest most definately. The Administrator has staked some of his reputation on the deal on the table happening as he chose it as his preferred option. He is therefore saying it is "the one and only". Vested interest most definately. I am no expert on these matters but there are two ways often of looking at most things if you try. I'm still not going to get overly concerned unless I read that the world has ended for Argyle.
Thank you Reid-all-about-it. Seem a really friendly bunch on here. Very profound sensiblegreeny. My glass is always half full where Argyle are concerned, just wish there was just a flicker of light at the end of the tunnell.
There is if you look hard enough. Argyle have started pre season and at one point not too far in the past it looked like they may not even exist now. Just fill up the other half of your glass and sit back.
Welcome DJ yep glass half full for me too when it comes to Argyle problem is at the moment some bugger keeps stealing it!!! Spin from HP IMHO is to deflect the critics of the curent deal by selling the only option or bust line.
Back to the topic of Dickinson, I have heard from a very unreliable source that he had medical problems and it was not because he had a better offer of somewhere with pay.
Yep poor boy was probably starving to death he hasn´t been able to afford food since he signed for us.
Now you mention it we did seem to have a lot of gems in the end but only when sold. If I was being brutally honest then I don't think we have had any "stars" or "gems" since the old lot left. By that I mean several years ago not recently. Perhaps I'm getting more critical in my dotage or the green tints are wearing a bit thin. It does seem to be the modern way to throw the words hero and star around. I must book a trip to specsavers and get the glasses resprayed.
It's hard to fill a glass when it's upside down but thats what happens in your dotage.............I've been there, done it , got the T-shirt. Feel so depressed after visiting Plymouth, even the Porter on platform 7 looked at me as if I had some uncurable disease when I told him I had supported Argyle since before his father was born.............he said he had been trying to get away for ages and couldn't stand the place any more. All those plaques along the Barbican wall showing that people have been leaving for 400 years, it surely can't be that bad, nearly a whole day gone without another player leaving so thats a success story..........unless they can't afford the train fare or petrol money..........cheer me up somebody with some good news.
NO, you can stay miserable like the rest of us. Anyway, Liam Dickinson WALKED out it said so they don't need petrol money or train fares. If they want to go then they can do the same.
Talking about walking............poor Rory Patterson can't afford to turn up for training............what a prat..............the hundreds of back-packers that where laying all over the concourse at Paddington probably didn't have too much money, but it aint stopping them getting from A to B. Patterson can't find his way to Plymouth..............he also aint very good at finding his way to the back of the net either..........whats he waiting for a whip-round..........if he'd signed that little bit of paper last week he would of received 50% of his wages if my memory serves me right..........don't bother Rory we'll struggle on without you.
I see that Anthony Elding a Rochdale player could be on trial tonight against Bristol City. He ended last season on loan to Stockport County who were relegated to the Conference..........Oh hell I hope thats not an omen for next season.......maybe it can get worse and we havn't hit the bottom of the mirey stuff just yet.
I also see that on the website Reid is hoping Hitchcock is down for tonights match as a trialee. I wish I was not bloody working tonight! Still COYG!
