Any news on how Liam Cooper is performing at Chesterfield. They are on a good run at the moment and having extended his loan I am guessing he is doing okay??

i was accosted by a chesterfield fan who is desperate to keep him. i'm told he looked very shaky for the first five minutes of his first game but has been most impressive ever since. on top of that, chesterfield signed another c.b. last summer and he looked terrible but with cooper alongside him he's looking like a good player.

You just hope that this makes Bruce consider assessing him fairly when his loan spell finishes. It would be a real shame if we let him go.

Think Bruce is handling his development well. At moment wouldn't get a run out with us, at chesterfield he is playing regularly and well, far better then warming bench and reserves.
I expect to see him in and around 1st team next season

He should be playing for us, we'd be £6k a week better off.

He's not as good as Alex Bruce at the moment I'm afraid. In fact Alex Bruce has been outstanding since he joined, you can't argue against that.

Bruce was excellent again yesterday. Cooper wouldn't oust him yet.

Seconded. AB is a talker and an organiser, something none of our other CB's are.

Alex Bruce has been very very good for us this year, proved some people wrong.

It would be more than a shame IF Bruce lets him go. With Faye out of contract in the summer, Cooper is the idea replacement for starters. imo

Have to agree. Doubtfull Bruce lets him go. This loan spell will only make him better and I would think next season he will make a number of appearances for us.

Our depth in defence seems pretty good. We have:

    McShane
    Chester
    Bruce
    Faye
    Hobbs
    Cooper

And then we have players like Max Clark coming through the academy.

Half of them are out of contract at the end of this season.

There is nothing serious that you can fault about AB.
The only thing you can fault is the fact he seems to be injured quite easily, but that isn't really his own fault most of the time.

Though if you are a Leeds fan, he is supposedly still absolute ****e and would be their 5th choice CB... <laugh>

He has done really well I think to be honest, and of course he is because they're defensively perfect that's why they're 14th.
