Seems like an age ago now but for anyone interested here's Clive's report. The boredom before the storm - Report Thursday, 29th Sep 2016 20:27 by Clive Whittingham For what it's worth now, here’s LFW's summary of QPR's Tuesday night draw at Burton. A game we were never going to remember for long anyway, even before today's developments. This hardly seems to matter much now but you'd have to go a long old way and watch a lot of Championship football to find a game at this level with less quality in it than this. Ostensibly two Championship teams, Burton Albion and Queens Park Rangers had resorted to simply whacking the ball at each other as high, long and hard as they could long before the end. Rangers' approach to the final third of the game, in particular, would have made John Beck blush. I can't ever recall a match where the ball flew all the way from one goalkeeper right through to the one at the other end untouched quite so often. Overseen by the most bog standard of bog standard referees, assisted by two linesmen who were as much use as a loose butt plug, an advert for the newly rebranded English Football League's main competition it most certainly was not. One beautiful sunset, and a home mascot that looked a bit like Gary Penrice, apart this was a game we would scarcely have remembered by the middle of next week regardless of today's Telegraph revelations. Well after reading that perhaps Sam Allardyce's punishment should be a home and away season ticket to QPR in which he must compulsory attend every single match.
He's dumb but not dumb enough to watch us. Sam;s actual punishment is a £1m payoff and an extended holiday. He'll be back just in time for sacking season when some desperado Premier League team in the bottom half of the table will take a chance as he has a good record of saving team's from the drop.
A good report but it makes for flat reading due to the subsequent off the field events . I am also personally very pleased that Wszołek was picked as our MOTM. It seems we have made a good purchase with both Wszołek and Borysiuk. I am sure they are now wondering what sort of a club they have joined. The comments on the midweek team being selected based upon fitness levels is interesting, but if true it is clearly not bearing fruit either on the Saturday or midweek matches. Let's hope the team on Saturday can rise to the occasion and clear the air with a great win at the Cottage. We really need it. COYR's!!!!
That's a depressing read about the standard of football being offered........ Maybe a tonking by Fulham tomorrow might be the right thing then JFH can be let go for footballing treasons......sorry reasons and Steve Bruce with his new hair style (anyone see him last night on ITV's UEFA Cup highlights show?) can be put in charge.......
I was very pleased to read that Paweł Wszołek has been called up to the Polish national team for the next two international matches (Denmark and Armenia at home). He is currently the back up to Paweł Grosicki (plays for Rennes) and is unlikely to be the first choice against Denmark, but I hope he get a run out against Armenia. I will be at both matches so it will be great to see QPR player on the pitch.
