Well, that was rather long-winded. I gave up on the 23rd paragraph. If anyone else has the perseverance, let me know how it finishes

I bet Clive scratches his head when it comes to Twitter, "how the hell are you supposed to get across your point in 70 characters or less"?

Couldn't disagree with anything he's written. Mutch was absolute dogshit though, so got off lightly in that report. It's more of a question of Hoillet Vs Mutch than Hoillet Vs Remy.

He makes a very good point about our pre-season. It seems we are now less ambitious in this respect than in the days of Neil Warnock's clotted cream and football days out in the West Country. I have said before that this is another black mark against Beard who is surely meant to be coordinating such activities. We are a Premier League club for pity's sake and just the missed opportunity for overseas marketing alone should have Fernandes asking questions.

Not that it really explains or justifies such a capitulation of course.

No idea why mutch is starting ahead of hoilett... and why on earth ale faurlin lost his place to Fer, infact faurlin should be first choice midfielder. Hopefully this vargas can put a few goals in past sunderland. Also dunne should never start again, defenders in the premier league need to have either speed or decent technical ability aswell as being able to defend. Unfortunately he has neither. I would prefer max ehmer over him as harsh as it. Isla could have been alot worse, and with faurlin and vargas on the field he would be more comfortable playing. As with jordan mutch though.. surely an unfit Adelaide taarabt could do a better job? And why was matter phillips starting ahead of hoilett? Definetly was playing out of position . Joey barton also needs to learn he's not as good as he thinks he is..
