For once I think its a poor write up, sounds like he's trying to convice himself the fans are partly to blame, after spending the last few seasons slating the running of the club on LFW & The podcast. Anti & Clive positions seem to changing weekly, interesting if only for that.
"QPR had long spells of dominance"?????????????????????????????????????????????????? I usually agree with most of Clive's reports, but he must have been watching a different game to me, one where we didn't actually only have 38%possession!! Cardiff were all over us like a bad suit.
Clive has been to the meetings and also thinks we have made some good signings. I think he is trying to take a longer view than most people on these forums. His report is consistent with that.
I read it as an attempt to convince himself, not sure he really believes in the new regime, but has been talked into giving it a chance. Not sure his view will be the same in just 3 games time. Clive is not know for being understanding when you screw the club over, I'm just surprised by his apparent change of heart, or attempt at. Also disappointed as I thought he was to intelligent and more importantly cynical to be taken in again!
Only time will tell. I cant speak for Clive, only comment on what comes through on in his reports, I look for them every game and can't really believe the football has been the thing that's convinced him.
In an even, end to end encounter of Championship quality, this is where I stopped with clive 38% does not sound even will read the other one now
I thought the game was pretty even. Possession doesn't = chances. Palace hardly ever got near 50% last season but comfortably stayed up. Other stats show we were ahead on total shots, shots on target and corners. Sounds pretty even overall.
That's fair comment and we did have the better chances, which we should have wrapped the game up with. However, it was Clive's comment of "QPR had long spells of dominance" that I just can't agree with.
Yes, I can't recall them either col!. I did think they had lost their momentum late on though and even when JET missed that chance I thought we were going to hold on. A draw was probably about right overall though.
