http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/lfc-statement-on-luis-suarez-decision ------------------------------- Luis Suarez today confirmed his decision not to appeal the 10-game ban imposed following the incident with Branislav Ivanovic at Anfield on Sunday, April 21. Managing director Ian Ayre said: "The charges against Luis were his to consider and we have to respect his decision to not appeal the 10-game ban. "We are all disappointed at the severity of the punishment and in particular the differing standards that have been applied across various previous incidents. "Luis is an important member of our team and nothing has changed in that regard. "We are committed to helping him improve his conduct and he will be given our full support. We look forward to him returning to the team next season when he is available for selection." Brendan Rodgers added: "We can't hide our disappointment at the outcome of this situation, but we have to move on and support Luis in his decision. "Luis has made a huge contribution to the squad this season and we respect his decision to accept the ban. "He will be missed for the remainder of this season and the early part of next, but we will have the opportunity to welcome a better person and player when he returns."
Looks like the new PR girl's starting of well, fooling people into believe it was Luis's decision to accept the ban. Like bollocks it was. LFC have told him to shut up and accept it, but if we come out and say it was your choice, you'll come out better for it. I think, irrespective of how unfair the ban is compared to other offenses, it was right to just accept it. Lets move on and hope we can sign another forward option this summer so we're not completely ****ed when he's next banned
A good statement imo. It is mad that he has got 10 games as opposed to Defoe who only got a yellow purely because of the backward system that the FA use for retrospective action (which i'm sure they havent made clear to anyone). In reality Defoe has only got a yellow because the ref made a call, whereas Suarez gets 20x worse purely because th officials were incompetant in spotting the offence. You have to ask why is the opinion of the referee and the FA so vastly different for a similar offense? Something is very obviously wrong. I don't believe the stories about the FA intentions towards Liverpool, but I do however believe they are not fit for purpose.

There's no way this was his decision alone. Just another example of our total lack of cohesion within the club. Crisis management courses on the agenda over the summer. As I've said before though we simply wouldn't be in this position if Suarez had kept his gnashers to himself so as far as I'm concerned there's only one person to blame in all this.
@luis16suarez: Hello to everyone, I wanted to share this statement with all of you. Thanks for your support http://t.co/pzXKiuaJcr Good statement. Whether he did it or DofC, it cuts the wind out of the sails of the outraged.
If only that were true frank, if only. They'll be back, be it for Luis or another of our players that needs nobling, and when the press whip up the hysteria the FA will oblige them. You'll see.
I think he was advised that the FA would not budge, they have it in for him and appealing will only drag it out and or make it worse for all involved. It was the right decision to not appeal for the most obvious of reasons
