Here's a list of our international players from the LFC website

    http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/borini-strike-decisive-for-italy-u21s

Borini player u21s which i suppose is a boost as any game time after his injury could be seen as a positive to build match fitness. however would he be ready for this weekend as a reuslt? who knows.

what we do know is that gerrard, suarez, johnson, agger and skertl all played full games midweek after playing v arsenal and city.... do you think that LFC should have either pulled one or two out of these meaningless "prestige" friendlies or should we at least have seen some consideration been given by international maagers by minimising game time to 45mins.

It'll be interesting to see if sturridge plays this weekend as well... the realist is we do have a bit of a boon in that we play on monday... BUT we then have to go to zenit on thursday away before playing swansea.... this next week could be crucial to our entire season... not that its been great but a slive rof hope remains... you'd think some consideration would be given to this before these meaningless friendlies so i'll await with interest news of knocks and tired legs.

    fingers crossed.

could have done with not playing full 90 mins in a pointless friendly.

what annoys me is rival fans would turn round and say but Rooney played 90 mins for example as well, true, but then we don't have a Hernandez or Wellbeck as backup if they got injured or needed to be rested for the next game, and the lethal RVP as well.

our players are key players to our team, which is the problem, as we do not have a good enough squad yet, and if we lost any of them our first team suffers badly.

we do need to be tougher,

Most of the clubs around us will be in the same boat. As you say us not playing until Monday should mean we're ok for the West Brom game. As for the Zenit game I think we'll see a lot of players who don't play Monday or won't play against Swansea. I always want us to take every game seriously but I'd be happier to lose to Zenit if we won the two league games. Not sure why we can't play Sunday though seeing as we're playing Thursday but ultimately we should have a squad that can cope with European football midweek.

I know what you mean about meaningless friendlies but I have to say I quite enjoyed last nights game. There is a certain satisfaction in seeing Gerrard and Johnson playing so well and knowing Sturridge would have been better than Welbeck <whistle>

...and on the plus side...we get three games to watch in 6 days <diva> a feast of football next week (hopefully).

Isn't that just because United have built a much better squad than us though? I'm not sure we should ask for special treatment because of our own failings. Better that we take them as an example and work to better the way we do things.

    true,

but they was saying before half time about Cavani coming off, and i was thinking when is Suarez going to come off because of fixture list we have coming up.

he played full game in a pointless friendly and could have got injured, and they didn't give him proper service either.

we should be tougher, i have heard loads of ruddy times the commentators saying in int games fergie probably said only give them a half etc, why do we not hear that from our point of view.

Part of me wants to join in and bleat about the strain on our players. The other part of me wonders what the problem is. Injury is one thing but these are professional footballers. They know what the demands are. They train for it and have a responsibility to pace themselves.

On this occasion they have until Monday night to recoup their energy.

fairly sure most utd fans would feel they didn't want their main man of the moment tooling about for 90min for england either.

squad point is a good one but i'm SURE 90% of fans would perfer not to have these things stuck inthe calender.

anyway... we need to beat west brom and snag an away goal in russia..... then play swansea and you know what if gerrard survives all that with no injuries you could say his new training regime (of not training that much compared to yesteryear) works... however there is no way anyone can convince me he'll be able to give 100% in the next three games. Maybe he will be rested for thursday....

my thought is it has to be inevitable that suarez gets a knock... he was limping on an ankle knock the last two games so i can see us losing him if we don't mind him... 2 first half goals please luis v west brom then come off at half time...

Was it our doctors or England's that pulled Sturridge and Sterling from the internationals this week?

our doctors on sturridge.. no idea on stelring but it could be due to court thing.

I agree with fordeck on players should be able to manage it but in reality that could mean an average performance in a league match or "saving yourself" I thought suarez's touch was off v city due to tiredness and then you put a flight to qatar, a full game then a return flight in? then follow it with russia on thursady... I'd be amazed if he's on fire v swansea...

I think its hard enough without international but wehn you see walcott off and resting while gerrard and johnson... who've come back to fitness after many layoffs in previous years... having to play the whle thing... thats what gets me. we suffered with spain and torres... we're lucky this year so i have to wonder and be looking for any little weakness we might have here.
