The O's produced their best half of pre-season in the first 45 minutes and took the lead through David Mooney's penalty. Dean Cox doubled Orient's lead at the start of the second half when he rounded the goalkeeper to score. Mo Sharif pulled one back for the Premier League side but Orient held on for the win.
Luton ladies hammer QPR Published on Tuesday 7 August 2012 09:00 LADIES FOOTBALL: Luton Town Ladies racked up another superb pre-season victory with an excellent 7-3 win against Premier League Queens Park Rangers on Sunday, following on from a 3-0 win at Gillingham recently. Hatters fell behind to a heavily deflected shot but responded quickly with goals from Zara Carroll, Lydia Radley and Michelle Byrne. A slow start to the second half allowed the Hoops back into the game as they drew level, but Town regained the initiative within seconds when Rebecca Kane forced a Rangers defender to put through her own goal. A fine solo strike from Rebecca Scott and two more well placed free-kicks from Carroll helped her to complete her hat-trick. Nic Henman also netted a hat-trick against the Gills and Luton play Kettering Town this Sunday before their South East Combination League season starts in earnest against newly-promoted Arlesey Town.
