http://www1.skysports.com/football/...terest-in-Bristol-City-stopper-Lewin-Nyatanga What do you reckon? Sign him back up or let him go on the free. Still only 24 but it feels like he has been here for ages. I personally think he would be a great CB at L1 level and a 2 year contract should be offered sooner rather than later. Only CB at the club I would like to see us keep
Why would he reward a player who's helped in our downfall to league 1? Doesn't sound right to me.. get rid asap, my granny can pass a ball better than him.. 2 new CB'S should be the first thing on sods shopping list
I won't care less if Tangle leaves or Fonts or Kilkenny or Anderson or ........ Just listened to SOD on Player, he rates Kilkenny and reckons he'll be an important player for us next season. Now that's something I've been longing to hear.
When he joined us I tipped him to be a great player for us, but it was never to be. He's had his chances, and if someone puts in a bid I think we should cut our losses.
I notice it is an agent doing the talking, if that's the case just **** him out the door with his player and quick, we want fresh and committed players, he ain't that good anyway..... ' A spokesman for End Game, who represent the player, told Sky Sports: "Lewin will be considering his options once the season has finished'.
Cunningham has said that he still has 3 years on his contract so he at least will probably be at the Gate though I wouldn't be surprised if we get offers for him.
Nyatanga has been in the second half of this season, our most consistent defender. It does not say a lot for the rest of the bunch to be outshone by someone who during his four seasons at City has never been a regular, never first choice on the team sheet and never seen by most City fans as anyone other than a reasonable bit part player who does not appear to have improved one little bit since his arrival from Derby. If that sounds harsh, it is not meant to be; just a realistic appraisal of him in my opinion. If we are to progress back up to the Championship, I want it to be with players of his age, still only 24, or younger, who will show noticeable improvement season after season, hungry for first team football and success; not just plodding along as a very well paid reserve.
He has done little to deserve a continued stay at AG. I would think a re-structure of our defence and midfield is vital to give us a remote chance of doing well next season, but then i've said this for the last 4 years and nothing got done. Cunny and Heaton are the only defensive players I would consider with a long term future at our club Heaton, Cunningham, Kelly, Davies, Anderson, Stead, Elliott, Baldock. These of the first 11 would be an asset to us, and I would sling the others out on their ears.
I would have agreed with most that Nyatanga didnt have a future at the club as he has underperformed. However since SOD has come in I think Nyatanga has actually played ok. I dont know if that because he usually plays next to Fontain who makes Nyatanga look better but he has put in some good performances and in the write up has been given MOTM a couple of times of late. As we are soon to be playing league one football I would keep him and get rid of most of the rest of the defence but good luck to him if he does leave.
Good riddance if we can get shot of him. ****ing awful at best and that's doing him a favour. Get shot of Fontaine too
