I don't watch Bayern that often. How is he getting on? Its been quiet on him for a while. Seeing as he was got on a free, if he's not having a sweet time over there he could be worth chancing our arm in the summer.
He'd be a great signing if we could get him. I'd also still be keen to see if we could get Mario Mandzukic. I don't think either have set their new clubs alight but both would be really suited to Arsenal's style of play. The question is, with Giroud improving would either be an updgrade ? They are both very similar style players to Giroud.
I don't think Lewandowski is similar to Giroud. Mandzukic, yes. Lewandowski is what Welbeck could become. He's more mobile and is a decent ball player.
I'd say Lewandowski is an upgrade but it's pie in the sky dreaming to imagine he'd leave Bayern. Nor sure on Mandzukic. I'm glad Giroud is finally get the praise he deserves, I just wish we hadn't signed Welbeck, as we could have done with a better striker/alternative for Giroud. As it is, with Giroud, Welbeck, Sanchez, Walcott and now Ozil able to play upfront (all except Giroud interchanging) I can't see us signing another striker at all.
I'm happy with Welbeck right now. But if a special player like Lewandowski (I'm a huge fan) is remotely available I would get him in and sacrifice the Welbeck project. But I like Welbeck at Arsenal.
It's not even a question. Lewandowski would be a great signing. He's a more mobile, aggressive, technically superior vsn of Giroud. Saying that though I think our front three is excellent (as I've already said on here numerous times)
The 'Welbeck project'? What's that? See how mediocre you can be and still be picked for a CL team? 3 goals in last 18 appearances for a forward... #PROJEKKKKKT
Welbeck has played a part in both goals today, which is good, but he does need to start scoring more, he has to end the season in double digits in terms of goals scored.
Looks like Hamann is thinking the same thing http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...ransfer-rumours-should-pique-arsenal-interest
