"Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is rumoured to be resigned to losing Gareth Bale in the summer, with Real Madrid told they can buy the 23-year-old Welsh winger for £55m." (Source: Sunday Express) More BS, or a cracking piece of ITK from a hack journo? If this had been reported in The Daily Fail, I would have dismissed it instantly. Would £55 million be a fair price, bearing in mind that Bale signed a new contract only last Summer? Surely, £75 million + would be the kind of price that Levy would be holding out for, given his previous "no sale at any price" stance with Modric. I know that Levy caved on the price and the statement, but that was only because Rat-Boy began to kick up a stink and use the press to force a move. I can't see Bale acting in such a low-life fashion.
I think Levy would be delighted if he got 55 million for Bale. He may get a bonus on his 2 million squid a year from Billionaire Uncle Joe, for such a return. The club is run as a business not as a passion, for it,s mega money owner.
If it happens,I'm sure we will have the usual drama, dramatic open letters, bale be sold and then given a promise we had no choice and the money will be used to strengthen the squad. But its all just guess work from journos who are under pressure to fill pages.
Levy resigned to losing Bale for £55m in the summer. In other news, somebody was distraught at winning the Euromillions...
No offence HIAG, but why propagate a by-line story in a rag that's only purpose is to ferment an issue with one of our top players? We all know the 'what-ifs/might-ifs' without the likes of the SE getting extra coverage by one of our own.
Nothing but old speculation dressed up to look like new. We all know that if the player wants to leave, and the price is right, then he will go. This rehash however is nothing more than lazy journalism.
Do we want to win something or not?Getting rid of your stars won't do it! Look at United.THEY are always going for stars especially goalscorers and nutcase defenders. This is why they keep winning Mr Levy!!!!!!
Well in this fantasy world of Levy's, we will move into a big fancy new stadium that looks awesome on the latest and greatest computer program and by filling it out every week, Levy will decide to increase the wage cap and we will sign the best players in the world. You only need to look at the goons for a good example of this
United is a bad example they have success to keep the stars.....we are on a level playing field with the likes of Arsenal,Everton,Liverpool and these clubs struggle to keep their stars for the same reason we do...no success..we have to get success with a good set up....i think we have that now and add the odd player...maybe sell a player for 50 mill then build in several key areas and then move on a bit more. and mock the dreams of a new stadium at your peril but that in the long term will aid us in the dreams that Spurs fans have..Fergie going 6 years before winning his first trophy surely laid some foundations. How many of you will give AVB 6 years before he wins anything? we cant pick and choose philosophies to suit the agenda...its not that easy.
It's the price to pay for having exceptional players, when there are big fish sniffing around for them.
selling our best players will not get us the success, not sell a player for 50 million, and build in several key area's,that won't bring success, keeping the best players will
We Were lucky to get Dembele to replace Modric, and Dempsey is beginning to score the goal's vdv would have got, there is no one, anywhere near as good as Bale,to replace him.
Yes your right, he will be a lot cheaper and not as good. Dembele and Dempsey are not as good as Modric and VDV. Yes we are 4th but we would be 1st or 2nd if we kept are best players.
I wonder if this mastermind of football juorno has spotted the uncertainty around Madrid atm, Mourinho is unlikely to be there, so are you telling me that at this moment in time Bale is dying to go there, not knowing who's in charge, what plans for the team, and who knows, hold hands with Modric on the bench! I would imagine the possibilty of playing in the same side as Ronaldo is very attractive, but there's uncertainty around him too. They are a ridiculous amount of points below Barca already, they're not even 2nd place! In fact they're 7 pts off 2nd place, the team in 4th Betis are only 3 pts behind them and if they had a decent rest of season, Madrid could finish outside a CL place! (tongue in cheek, but not mathematically impossible) have a look at the La Liga table youselves.
They've had players sent off in their last 3 games, haven't they? Seems to me like they've all but given up which could be bad for us because the worse they do the more likely they're going to overhaul the squad with more Galacticos.
Agree with you about Dempsey, but not Dembele, who I think is a class act. I'd much rather have an interested Dembele playing for us than a disinterested Rat-Boy.
